AC Hotels by Marriott Ulaanbaatar’s strategic debut set for 2027 in Khan Uul District, expanding Marriott’s footprint in Asia Pacific

Marriott International has announced a landmark agreement with HTL Gateway LLC to open AC Hotel by Marriott Ulaanbaatar, marking the company’s debut in Mongolia and underscoring its commitment to expand thoughtfully across Asia Pacific. Scheduled to open in 2027, the hotel will introduce AC Hotels’ design-forward, European-inspired lifestyle brand to the capital city, blending purposeful spaces and signature experiences tailored for modern business and leisure travelers.

Part of a mixed-use development in the fast-growing Khan Uul District, the hotel will stand along Buyant-Ukhaa Road, offering quick access to the Central Business District, Sukhbaatar Square, and Chinggis Khaan International Airport. With cultural and sporting venues such as Buyant Ukhaa Sport Palace and AIC Steppe Arena nearby, as well as Yaarmag’s expanding commercial and residential hub, the property is strategically positioned to serve multiple demand drivers.

Planned with 190 guestrooms and suites, the property will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, an AC Store, and a stylish lounge and bar. Leisure and wellness amenities will include a heated indoor pool, spa, fitness center, and the AC Library, while flexible event spaces such as a junior ballroom and breakout rooms will cater to the city’s growing business scene.

“We are excited to expand Marriott International’s portfolio into Mongolia, a country that is emerging as both a dynamic business hub and a distinctive leisure destination,” said Duke Nam, Regional Vice President for Korea, Vietnam & Philippines, Marriott International.

“This milestone reflects years of dedication by our team,” added Erkhes Battuul, Founder and Project Leader of HTL Gateway LLC. “Together with Marriott, we are confident this hotel will set new standards and open an exciting new chapter in Mongolia’s hospitality industry.”

With Mongolia recording a record 800,000+ international visitors in 2024, AC Hotel by Marriott Ulaanbaatar is poised to play a defining role in shaping the city’s evolving hospitality landscape—offering globally inspired design and intuitive service for the next generation of travelers.
