Accor Wins World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Award

Accor earns top honours at the 2025 World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards for its pioneering Achieving Net Zero Together supply chain program

Accor has been recognised as the World’s Leading Climate Action Initiative at the 2025 World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards (WSTHA), earning the accolade for its high-impact supply chain decarbonisation program, Achieving Net Zero Together.

Recognising Climate Leadership in Hospitality

The WSTHA, organised by the World Travel Awards in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, celebrates individuals and organisations driving meaningful environmental change in global tourism. Accor’s recognition underscores its leadership in embedding sustainability directly into procurement and supplier relations.

Tackling the Hard-to-Reach: Supply Chain Emissions

Launched in 2024, Achieving Net Zero Together addresses one of the most complex challenges in corporate climate action—reducing supply chain emissions in an industry where carbon data remains scarce and supplier maturity varies widely.

The program is built on three key pillars:

  • Measuring suppliers’ carbon maturity
  • Reducing supply chain emissions through collaboration
  • Promoting low-carbon suppliers and offers

To drive measurable progress, Accor developed in-house tools and frameworks that empower both buyers and suppliers to co-create tailored decarbonisation roadmaps—a proactive approach that positions action ahead of reporting.

Over 1,000 Suppliers Engaged

Already, the program involves more than 1,000 suppliers, representing 77% of Accor’s total procurement volume. This extensive participation highlights the program’s success in fostering engagement across the hospitality value chain.

Accor’s efforts have also earned it recognition as a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader, placing the group in the top 6% of companies worldwide for supplier collaboration on climate impact.

A Collective Effort Toward Net Zero

Caroline Tissot, Group Chief Procurement Officer at Accor, noted:

“This recognition highlights Accor’s commitment to turning ambition into action. Through the Achieving Net Zero Together program, we and our partners are driving tangible progress on our journey toward net zero. Our approach is original in placing action over reporting and by organising direct one-on-one meetings between Accor category managers and suppliers.”

She added that earning this distinction within the first year of the program reflects the collective effort of Accor’s procurement teams and supplier network.
