Banyan Group this November will mark a significant moment in its journey with the Grand Opening of Mandai Rainforest Resort – its 100th hotel and a symbolic homecoming in Singapore -through a weeklong celebration and charity festival.

The first half of the year saw the Group underscore strategic expansion across Asia, Africa and Europe, with milestone anniversaries in China and the Maldives.

Eddy See, President and CEO of Banyan Group: “The first half of 2025 reflects not only the growth of our footprint, but also our belief that hospitality should offer more than just a place to stay. It’s about something authentic shaped by thoughtful design, cultural depth, and genuine care. As we grow, we remain committed to using travel as a force for positive change and to deepening meaning, not just expanding presence.”

In addition to the Singapore opening, Banyan Group is expanding into safari hospitality with the launch of Ubuyu, A Banyan Tree Escape, in Tanzania. Scheduled to open in late 2025, the resort will be situated in Ruaha National Park, renowned for its rich biodiversity, including large populations of elephants and lions. The initial phase will include six artisan villas constructed with local materials and inspired by traditional Maasai architecture.

The company is also marking its 20th anniversary in China, where it operates 33 hotels. New openings in China this year include Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay and Angsana Zhoushan. The company has also signed new agreements in Guangzhou, Xiamen, and Wenling.

In the Maldives, Banyan Group is celebrating 30 years of operations, with recognition from the Government of the Maldives for its contributions to environmental stewardship. The company continues to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia, with the opening of Garrya Mu Cang Chai in Vietnam and the upcoming Homm Mandaue Cebu in the Philippines.

Banyan Group is also expanding its retail presence through Banyan Tree Gallery, which now offers products on board China Airlines. In Europe, the company has launched sales for Banyan Tree Padilla Madrid Residences, its first residential development on the continent. In Southeast Asia, Banyan Tree Beach Residences Oceanus has launched in Laguna Phuket.
