Banyan Tree Krabi earns a coveted spot on Fodor’s Finest Hotels 2026 list, recognized for its sustainability, local partnerships, and world-class hospitality

Thailand’s only winner joins Fodor world’s top 100 hotels, celebrated for sustainability, design, and heartfelt service.

Fodor’s Recognizes the World’s Most Exceptional Hotels

Travel authority Fodor’s has revealed its highly anticipated list of the “Fodor’s Finest Hotels 2026,” spotlighting 100 of the world’s most extraordinary hotels and resorts. Out of just 15 Asian winners, Banyan Tree Krabi stands as the only property in Thailand to make the cut.

Fodor’s, a leading U.S.-based travel publisher since 1949, described its selection process as “brutal and fastidious,” ensuring that every property on the list was thoroughly vetted by its editors and writers.

Why Banyan Tree Krabi Made the List

According to Rachael Levitt, Fodor’s Managing Editor, hotels were assessed on service, design, uniqueness, amenities, and overall guest comfort. She praised Banyan Tree Krabi as a place “where sustainability goes hand in hand with comfort and luxury.”

“Thailand is famous for its hospitality, and the team here is exceptional,” Levitt wrote. “Dedication to the community is also a feature. Local cold-press coffee showcases an up-and-coming Thai industry. The gallery sells only locally created artisan goods, and the gorgeous restaurants—Saffron, The Naga Kitchen, and Bird’s Nest—highlight regional delicacies and Southeast Asian fusion favorites in a stunning landscape.”

Nature, Design, and Community at the Heart of the Resort

Nestled along Tubkaek Beach, about 40 kilometers from Krabi International Airport, Banyan Tree Krabi enjoys a serene setting framed by limestone cliffs and a lush verdant hillside. Facing west over the Andaman Sea, the resort is designed for tranquility, offering both spectacular views and a deep connection to nature.

General Manager Haruethai Maneerat said:

“To be selected by Fodor’s as one of the 100 best hotels in the world for 2026 is a great honour. This prestigious award is a reflection of our team’s dedication to excellence and a tribute to the Banyan Tree brand.”

Sustainability: The Resort’s Defining Strength

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Banyan Tree Krabi’s philosophy. Led by Sustainability Manager Thepsuda Loyjiw, a marine biologist, the resort has consistently implemented eco-friendly initiatives focused on reducing consumption, waste management, and resource protection.

One of its standout programmes, “Souvenirs from the Sea,” partners with local artisans who collect washed-up refuse and upcycle it into creative souvenirs like tote bags, sold at the resort’s boutique, Banyan Tree Gallery Krabi.

The resort also supports local food producers and artisans, reinforcing its commitment to community-based development and environmental care.

A Growing List of Global Accolades

The Fodor’s recognition follows Banyan Tree Krabi’s Two Keys award from MICHELIN in October, part of the inaugural MICHELIN Key programme honouring exceptional hotels across Thailand. The dual accolades underscore the resort’s rise as one of Asia’s most admired luxury eco-resorts.

The Resort

Banyan Tree Krabi has 72 pool suites and villas, among them seven two-bedroom options, one three-bedroom villa, and a majestic seven-bedroom Presidential Beachfront Pool Villa.

Facilities include two restaurants and a beach bar, a beach club, a kids’ club, a fitness centre, meeting rooms, and a rainforest-themed spa.
