Michelin Key Selection recognizes world’s best hotels

MICHELIN has announced its 2025 Key Awards, recognizing the world’s best hotels across nearly 100 new countries

There’s never been a more exciting moment for the best hotels. As MICHELIN Inspectors scoured the globe ahead of this year’s highly anticipated announcement, they found a hospitality world transformed, one defined not by uniformity, but by vibrant individuality and design daring.

On October 8, MICHELIN revealed its 2025 Key Awards, honoring exceptional hotels across North America, Europe, and Asia, and, for the first time, nearly 100 additional countries worldwide.

Now in its second year, the MICHELIN Key, the hotel counterpart to the renowned MICHELIN Star, recognizes properties that deliver truly remarkable stays. This year’s list features 143 Three-Key, 572 Two-Key, and 1,742 One-Key hotels, ranging from canvas tents in the desert to glass retreats in the forest, from centuries-old riads to cutting-edge urban towers.

Each of the more than 7,000 hotels in MICHELIN’s global selection meets the brand’s exacting standards. The Key recipients stand above the rest, exceptional places that offer not just accommodation, but inspiration.

Here, we highlight the standout Key Award hotels in China.
