BWH Hotels GB, the UK’s largest group of independent hotels, has posted a 7% rise in bedroom revenue in the first half of 2025, reaching £73.3 million and outperforming budget expectations. Growth was driven by leisure groups, MICE bookings and loyalty programme engagement, despite ongoing economic headwinds and subdued corporate demand.

Meetings and events revenue rose 19% year-on-year, supported by the Venues Team and the launch of Planners Advantage, an extension of the BW Rewards programme for organisers. Overall, Rewards members spent £30.6 million, up 17% on 2024.

Jim Muir, BWH Hotels commercial director: “At the heart of everything we do is a simple principle: helping our hotels thrive.”

The group also added nine hotels to its portfolio, including The Clarence Gardens Hotel in Scarborough, Velvet Hotel in Manchester and The Crooklands in Kendal, with further additions to the BW Signature Collection expected. Marketing remains a key strength, with the launch of a new, conversion-focused website.

CEO Tim Rumney said the hotelier-led, non-shareholder model continues to set BWH apart: “We’re helping our hotels get ahead of industry challenges by investing directly in digital performance, loyalty and sales. Every penny is reinvested to drive bookings, build loyalty and support performance – not shareholder dividends.”

Looking ahead, BWH Hotels GB will focus on stimulating corporate demand, maximising its new digital platforms and strengthening sales and marketing to support its hotels through the remainder of 2025.
