What Is the Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui Resort?

The Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui resort will be located approximately 25 minutes from Samui International Airport, offering direct access to more than 200 metres of private beachfront.

The 303-room property will feature sports and leisure facilities, new dining concepts, and Club Med’s signature family-focused programs, including Kids Club and Amazing Family activities. The resort’s design will draw inspiration from Thai heritage and the island’s natural landscape.

Once open, the resort will join Club Med’s global portfolio of more than 60 premium and Exclusive Collection resorts across 25 countries. The Exclusive Collection segment currently represents around 13% of the company’s global capacity across 21 properties, including resorts, villas, chalets, and the sailing yacht Club Med 2.

Airport Transfer

For a smoother arrival experience, many travellers choose to pre-book airport transfers before departure. This allows you to lock in a fixed price and avoid taxi queues at the airport, making it a convenient option for travellers arriving late at night or visiting a destination for the first time.

Why Does This Development Matter for Thailand’s Tourism Sector?

The announcement was formally unveiled at Club Med Kiroro Peak, attended by Stéphane Maquaire, President and CEO of Club Med, Rachael Harding, CEO of East and South Asia Pacific, and Soravit Chairoj, Managing Partner and Co-Head of Central Group Capital.

Maquaire said the beachfront property represents an expansion of Club Med’s premium portfolio while supporting sustainable tourism growth and local communities.

Harding noted that the project aligns with the company’s strategy to expand upscale, family-oriented all-inclusive resorts in Asia, targeting international travellers seeking integrated holiday experiences.

Partnership with Central Group Capital

Central Group Capital launched its inaugural hospitality investment fund in April 2023 with a value of THB 10 billion (approximately USD 300 million). The fund focuses on high-potential tourism assets across Thailand.

According to Chairoj, Koh Samui remains one of Thailand’s most sought-after island destinations, and the redevelopment aims to maximise the value of its beachfront location and natural environment.

Industry Insight

The Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui project reflects a broader industry shift toward high-end all-inclusive resorts in Asia. Luxury resort brands are increasingly targeting integrated family travel experiences, a segment traditionally dominated by Caribbean and Mediterranean destinations.

Thailand’s established tourism infrastructure and strong international demand position Koh Samui as a competitive destination for this growing upscale resort segment.
