Rosewood Calistoga has announced the appointment of Daniel Simon as Managing Director, as the luxury hospitality brand prepares to open its highly anticipated Napa Valley estate in early 2027.
With more than three decades of international luxury hospitality experience, Simon will lead the opening of Rosewood Calistoga. Set on a forested ridgeline in Calistoga, the estate will mark an important milestone in Rosewood Hotel Group’s continued growth across the Americas and its new discovery-led era.
Originally from Sweden, Simon joined Rosewood Hotel Group in 2021 and most recently served as Managing Director of Rosewood Phnom Penh. During his tenure, the property earned significant international recognition, including a No. 30 ranking on Travel + Leisure’s 2024 “100 Best Hotels in the World” list.
In addition, Rosewood Phnom Penh received multiple World Spa Awards for Sense®, A Rosewood Spa, as well as recognition from Asia’s 50 Best Bars. The hotel was also recognised for its sustainability initiatives.
Simon brings a broad international leadership background to his new role. His earlier career includes senior positions across the United States, Southeast Asia, Canada and Australia, with experience at Anantara, W Hotels, Celebrity Cruises and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
Before entering hospitality, Simon served as a logistics officer in the Swedish Army. His diverse experience across luxury hotels, resorts and international operations will now support the highly anticipated opening of Rosewood Calistoga in Napa Valley.
