Dusit Thani Bangkok earns a spot on The World’s 100 Best Hotels 2025, celebrating its iconic redesign, Thai hospitality, and global recognition

Dusit Thani Bangkok – the flagship of Dusit Hotels and Resorts under Dusit International – has earned global recognition once again, securing the #60 spot on the inaugural extended list of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025. The expanded index highlights 100 exceptional properties worldwide, celebrating innovation, service excellence, and transformational hospitality experiences across six continents.

The ranking was determined by more than 800 independent travel experts, including luxury hoteliers, seasoned writers, and global travellers – underscoring the significance of this achievement for both the iconic hotel and Thailand’s hospitality landscape.

From Thai Landmark to Global Icon

A storied history meets visionary reinvention. Opened in 1970 as one of Thailand’s earliest luxury hotels, Dusit Thani Bangkok quickly became a beloved city landmark and a symbol of modern Thai graciousness. Its silhouette and service culture shaped the expectations of travellers for generations.

After closing for redevelopment, the property underwent a five-year transformation as part of the landmark Dusit Central Park mixed-use project. When it reopened in September 2024, it marked not just a return, but a reimagining—ushering in a new era defined by design excellence, cultural continuity, and elevated guest experiences.

Honouring Heritage Through Contemporary Design

A thoughtful blend of past, present, and place

The new Dusit Thani Bangkok retains the soul of the original hotel while introducing a modern architectural vision. Key heritage elements have been preserved and thoughtfully integrated:

  • The original spire, now embraced by a gleaming new crown atop the building
  • Ornate decorative pillars restored and reinstalled
  • Frangipani trees planted by Dusit’s founder, carefully nurtured and replanted
  • Original artworks and memorabilia, curated within the property

These elements together form a narrative bridge between eras – an homage to a Thai icon that remains rooted in its founding values.

Redefining Luxury with Culture and Craftsmanship

Inside, internationally acclaimed designer André Fu has reinterpreted the hotel’s legacy through a contemporary lens. The result is a series of refined, serene spaces where Thai artistry meets modern elegance.

Highlights include:

  • Spacious guest rooms and suites with sweeping views of Lumpini Park
  • Curated dining concepts showcasing global flavours and Thai culinary finesse
  • Devarana Wellness, the brand’s signature holistic sanctuary
  • Thoughtfully crafted interiors that emphasise materials, texture, and cultural storytelling

Every detail reflects a deliberate balance: heritage and innovation, craftsmanship and comfort.

Recognition Reflecting a Global Standard of Excellence

“To be named among the world’s 100 best hotels just one year after reopening is an incredible milestone that reaffirms our commitment to excellence, innovation, and authenticity,” said Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International.

He added that the recognition celebrates the collective ambition across all Dusit properties to offer experiences deeply rooted in local culture yet elevated by contemporary design and heartfelt service. The ranking sets a benchmark for what the group aims to achieve across its global portfolio.

The announcement was made at The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 ceremony at London’s Old Billingsgate on 30 October 2025, where Dusit Thani Bangkok was honoured alongside highly acclaimed hotels from around the world.
