New Resort Will Feature Hot Springs, Immersive Nature Experiences, and Signature Four Seasons Service in the Heart of Moganshan

Four Seasons, in partnership with Zhejiang Shangyin Cultural Tourism Development, has announced plans for Four Seasons Resort Moganshan, a landmark luxury destination set to open in 2030. Nestled amidst bamboo forests, rolling tea plantations, and mountains, the resort will be among the region’s few properties with direct access to natural hot springs, offering guests a year-round sanctuary of wellness, relaxation, and exploration.

Moganshan has long been celebrated as a top travel destination, drawing generations with its cool mountain climate, lush landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Now, with high-speed rail and expressways connecting Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Nanjing, the new Four Seasons Resort will make the area more accessible than ever for international and domestic travellers seeking both adventure and tranquillity.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to expand our presence in China, in a luxury destination that balances history, culture, and natural beauty,” said Bart Carnahan, President, Global Business Development, Portfolio Management and Residential, Four Seasons. “Together with Deqing Cultural & Tourism Group, we are creating a resort experience that complements our urban and lakeside properties in the Yangtze River Delta, offering guests an unmatched journey of wellness, discovery, and service excellence.”

The resort will feature 90 villas, suites, and guestrooms set on a 23-hectare valley, with sweeping views of mountains, forests, lakes, and tea plantations. Highlights include natural hot springs, a full-service spa, indoor and outdoor pools, meditation and yoga pavilions, and diverse outdoor activities from hiking and cycling to horseback riding and kayaking. Culinary offerings will include four restaurants and lounges, celebrating both Chinese cuisine and Moganshan’s tea-growing heritage.

Yang Guoliang, Chairman of Deqing Cultural & Tourism Group, added: “Our ambition is to create a world-class retreat that places Moganshan firmly on the global map. Together with Four Seasons, we will set a new benchmark for wellness, sustainability, and luxury hospitality in China.”

By connecting Moganshan with Four Seasons’ urban and lakeside properties in Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Shanghai, the resort will allow guests to curate multi-destination itineraries, deepening their exploration of China’s affluent Yangtze River Delta.
