The First International Jewelry Fashion Theme Month launches at Grand Yuyuan, marking a new milestone for Shanghai’s global jewelry and fashion industry
At the Grand Yuyuan Cultural Area, Shanghai officially launched the First International Jewelry Fashion Theme Month and the 2025 Shanghai Haute Couture Week on October 30, 2025. As the first major event since the establishment of the Shanghai International Jewelry & Style District, the celebration marks a new chapter for the city’s luxury and design industries.
At the opening ceremony, the district unveiled its official logo and introduced six members of its newly formed Expert Panel, representing fashion, academia, art, and media. Fifteen leading jewelry brands also received symbolic “Golden Keys” to the district, recognizing their role in shaping Shanghai’s jewelry ecosystem.
Two significant cooperation agreements were signed between Zijin Mining Group Gold & Jewelry Co., Ltd., the Gem & Jewelry Trade Association of China, and the district’s operator. These collaborations aim to strengthen integration across the jewelry value chain, from trade and exhibition to design and innovation.
The concurrent 2025 Shanghai Haute Couture Week highlighted the fusion of jewelry, haute couture, and art. The opening show, Ceremony of Life: Trilogy of Rituals, co-created by C-Jewelry and designer Pan Hong (PAN’S), combined traditional techniques with modern craftsmanship, showcasing oriental beauty and China’s cultural confidence.
Located in the heart of the Grand Yuyuan Cultural Area, the Jewelry & Style District serves as a cornerstone of Shanghai’s ambition to become a global jewelry powerhouse. With over 40 million annual visitors, the district integrates jewelry retail, cultural commerce, fine dining, and luxury experiences through its twin hubs—Yuyuan Tourist Mart and the Bund Finance Center (BFC).
According to Wang Lixin, CEO of the World Gold Council China, Grand Yuyuan naturally combines jewelry trade, tourism, and culture, forming a complete ecosystem from cultural experience to consumption.
Throughout the theme month, new store openings, fashion showcases, and brand salons will continue across the area. Brands such as Lao Miao and CIGALONG will unveil new flagship stores at BFC, while collaborations with global luxury houses will spotlight Shanghai’s emerging role as Asia’s next jewelry capital.
