Hilton Garden Inn · Gen A

Hilton has announced the official opening of its first Hilton Garden Inn · Gen A hotels in multiple cities across China, including Chongqing, Sanya, and Harbin. Accelerating the brand’s growth, the company also announced 19 new signings of the brand across Greater China, at the recent 2025 Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit.

The new Hilton Garden Inn Gen A model, introduced specifically for the Chinese market, features a design aimed at meeting the contemporary needs of travelers. The first of these new properties, the Hilton Garden Inn Chongqing Yubei Central Park, includes 276 guest rooms and suites. This hotel and others in Sanya and Harbin integrate business-friendly amenities with lifestyle-oriented features.

“By creating spaces that reflect their values, style, and desire for comfort, balance, and connection, Gen A sets a new standard for guest experience in the upscale focused-service segment, while delivering sustainable value to our owners and investors. This milestone represents a bold step forward in the brand’s journey in China.” Jenny Milos, vice president, Brand Management, Suites & Focused Service, Asia Pacific, Hilton

In Sanya, the Hilton Garden Inn Sanya Haitang Bay is located near several tourist attractions and shopping areas, enhancing its appeal to leisure and business visitors. Similarly, the Hilton Garden Inn Harbin Haxi is in a prime area of western Harbin, close to major business districts and cultural sites.

The expansion strategy includes the newly opened hotels and 19 newly signed projects. These are set to be located in various key cities and cultural tourism markets, such as Xining, Weihai, Changbai Mountain, and Yiwu. This move is part of Hilton’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in China, targeting core urban centers and regions with high tourism potential.

“Targeting core urban centers and high-potential cultural and tourism destinations deepens our network in China as we aim to serve ever more business and leisure travelers.” Clarence Tan, senior vice president, Development, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

Hilton Garden Inn operates over 115 properties in China, with an additional 185 in the development pipeline. This rapid expansion underscores Hilton’s commitment to growing its footprint in the Asia Pacific region, with more than 130 Hilton Garden Inn hotels in operation.
