Hilton has opened two new hotels in Makkah — DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah and Wirgan Al Noor, Tapestry Collection by Hilton — almost doubling its footprint in the Holy City at a time when demand for quality, pilgrimage-ready accommodation continues to grow

What Happened

Hilton has expanded its presence in Makkah with the launch of two new properties, both owned by Wirgan Hospitality:

Together, the openings significantly increase Hilton’s room inventory in the city and broaden its accommodation offering for pilgrims and leisure travelers.

Mohamed Lotfy, cluster general manager of both hotels, said the properties were designed to deliver “comfort, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere” for guests visiting the Holy City.

H2: Why It Matters

Makkah remains one of the world’s most accommodation-constrained religious destinations during peak pilgrimage periods. By adding more than 1,700 rooms combined, Hilton is strengthening its position in Saudi Arabia’s faith tourism sector and diversifying its brand portfolio in the city — from mainstream DoubleTree to lifestyle-leaning Tapestry Collection. This expansion also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to upgrade hospitality infrastructure ahead of rising visitor numbers.
