Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. plans to transfer its common stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to Nasdaq on November 5, 2026. The company will retain its existing ticker symbol, HLT.

Hilton expects trading on Nasdaq to begin at market open on November 5. Its shares will continue trading on the NYSE until market close on November 4. Shareholders do not need to take any action as a result of the transfer.

Hilton Cites Growth and Technology Investment

Hilton President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Nassetta said the move aligns with the company’s growth ambitions and its focus on technology.

“Fueled by our asset-light business model, best-in-class brands, award-winning culture and leading commercial and technology platforms, Hilton continues to define what’s next in travel,” said Chris Nassetta, president and chief executive officer, Hilton. “We have built brands and technologies guests love, owners prefer and a business that continues to create long-term value for all our stakeholders while staying true to our purpose as a business of people serving people. Nasdaq is closely aligned with our growth ambitions, and we look forward to joining a marketplace that is highly respected as the home of many of the world’s most innovative companies.”

Since returning to the public markets in 2013, Hilton has expanded its portfolio from 10 brands and approximately 4,100 hotels in 90 countries and territories to 28 brands and more than 9,400 properties across 144 countries and territories.

The company has also increased its luxury and lifestyle portfolio from approximately 50 hotels to 1,200. Meanwhile, Hilton Honors has grown to more than 260 million members worldwide.

Hilton has also received recognition from Fortune and Great Place to Work, including being named the World’s Best Workplace.

Technology Platform Supports Hotel Operations

Hilton has introduced technology initiatives designed to improve the guest experience and support hotel owners’ operations.

These include AI-powered trip planning that connects the journey from search to stay. The company has also modernised its technology platform to help it scale guest-facing tools, including personalised digital messaging.

According to Hilton, these investments aim to improve efficiency and profitability for owners while enabling personalised guest services at scale.

The company recently announced the appointment of Jeff Moore as executive vice president and chief technology officer, further strengthening its technology leadership.

Nasdaq Chair and Chief Executive Officer Adena Friedman welcomed the planned transfer.

“Hilton is one of the world’s most recognized and respected hospitality brands, with a long history of delivering exceptional experiences for travelers around the globe,” said Adena Friedman, chair and chief executive officer, Nasdaq. “We are proud to welcome Hilton to Nasdaq and look forward to supporting the company as it builds on its legacy and enters a new chapter.”

Hilton’s History on the New York Stock Exchange

Hilton first listed on the NYSE in 1946, becoming the first hotel company to join the exchange. The company returned to public markets in 2013 after being privately held by Blackstone Inc.

Nassetta also acknowledged the exchange’s role in Hilton’s history as a publicly traded company.

“We are deeply grateful to the New York Stock Exchange for its longstanding partnership and the important role it has played in our public-company journey,” added Nassetta.

Hilton said the transfer will not change its business strategy, capital allocation priorities or commitments to guests, owners, team members and shareholders.
