Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG Hotels & Resorts have jointly released a free, survivor-informed human trafficking prevention training for the entire hospitality sector, the first time the three groups have collaborated on such an initiative—timed to strengthen industry preparedness ahead of large-scale U.S. events in 2026.

What the training includes

The new human trafficking prevention training is designed as a scalable, industry-wide resource rather than a brand-specific program.

Key features:

  • Survivor-informed curriculum developed with Protect All Children from Trafficking (PACT)
  • Live-action video storytelling in English and Spanish
  • Multilingual, standardized learning aligned with shared industry standards
  • Technical support, completion reminders, and a certificate upon finishing
  • Free access for independent owners, operators, and hotel brands throughout 2026

Who is behind the collaboration

The program was co-developed by Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG Hotels & Resorts with learning design partner Unboxed Training & Technology, while PACT serves as training administrator and subject-matter expert.

The initiative sits within the AHLA Foundation’s No Room for Trafficking (NRFT) framework. All three companies participate in the NRFT Advisory Council and the training will complement existing industry programs previously rolled out across the sector.

Why It Matters

  • Industry alignment: A single, shared training reduces fragmentation and sets a common baseline for staff awareness across brands and independent properties.
  • Timing for 2026: With major events scheduled in the U.S., the rollout provides a practical tool for hotels to strengthen detection and reporting capabilities.
  • Survivor-centered approach: Grounding the curriculum in lived experience increases relevance for real-world frontline situations.

Access and administration

PACT hosts the course and manages enrollment, delivery, and certification. Participants receive ongoing technical support and automated reminders to encourage completion.
