Stefan Mirevski joins the iconic waterfront property as General Manager, bringing more than 30 years of international hospitality leadership. Most recently, he served as General Manager of The Capital Hilton, where he successfully guided the hotel through the unprecedented operational challenges of the pandemic while maintaining service consistency and guest confidence during high-profile national events.
Throughout his career, Mirevski has led renowned hotels through major transformations, aligning brand standards with authentic guest experiences. His accomplishments include the reflagging of New York’s One UN Plaza Hotel to Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza, overseeing a $45 million renovation at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, and leading Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City National Airport to a top-three ranking among Hilton-managed properties in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast in 2016.
At InterContinental Washington D.C. The Wharf, Mirevski will focus on strengthening meaningful guest connections, empowering colleagues, and delivering refined, locally inspired experiences that reflect both the InterContinental brand and the District.
The hotel has also appointed Tyler Jones, a luxury hospitality executive with nearly two decades of experience, further strengthening its commercial leadership. Jones joins the property following his role as opening Director of Sales and Marketing at JW Marriott Reston Station, where he led market entry, brand positioning, and commercial strategy.

“InterContinental Washington D.C. The Wharf is truly iconic—offering an unmatched blend of city energy and waterfront tranquility,” says Jones. “As Washington prepares to welcome a global audience for America’s 250th anniversary, there is no better place to experience the nation’s capital.”
Jones’ career spans leadership roles across eight luxury, convention, and resort hotels nationwide, with a strong record in driving revenue growth, leading large-scale sales initiatives, and managing multi-million-dollar meetings and events transformations.
Completing the strengthened leadership team, Monique Harrison brings extensive experience in the DMV market, having led group sales at several of the region’s most acclaimed properties, including The Alexandrian Old Town Alexandria, Morrison House Old Town Alexandria, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington D.C., and The Westin Alexandria Old Town.

Recognized for her strategic vision and uncompromising service standards, Harrison has consistently delivered strong revenue growth while building high-performing teams. Her leadership has earned multiple Manager of the Quarter awards, and she is widely regarded as a mentor who has developed sales professionals into senior leaders.
In her new role, Harrison will focus on strengthening client partnerships, elevating team performance, and introducing innovative, high-touch sales strategies to drive sustained growth in the luxury meetings and events market.
