The new JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo introduces mindful luxury, exceptional dining, and world-class design at the city’s newest urban destination
JW Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 extraordinary hotel brands, proudly announces the opening of JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo — the brand’s second property in Japan. Located in the heart of Takanawa Gateway City, a next-generation urban hub envisioned as the “city of the future,” the hotel pairs contemporary elegance with exceptional accessibility, just above Takanawa Gateway Station and 20 minutes from Haneda Airport.
Designed by acclaimed studio Yabu Pushelberg, JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo embodies a timeless sanctuary inspired by Zen philosophy and the natural beauty of Gotenyama and Tokyo Bay. From the mirrored Mount Fuji art installation in the lobby to the luminous “Tree House” centerpiece by Czech glassmaker Lasvit, every element evokes harmony and mindfulness. The 200 guest rooms and suites are designed with serene palettes and organic textures, framing sweeping city views. The hotel also introduces Asia’s first Mindful Rooms & Suites, launching in December 2025, crafted to inspire rest, reflection, and well-being.
Dining is a celebration of creativity and connection. Kakō offers refined washoku cuisine highlighting Japan’s seasonal beauty; Saki, an intimate kappo restaurant, unites two-Michelin-starred chefs Kazumine Nishida and Emmanuel Stroobant in a unique culinary collaboration; and Sefino, by one-Michelin-starred Chef Agustin Balbi, brings modern Mediterranean flavors to life with artistic flair. Guests can also enjoy Japanese-inspired croissants at Le Cres, or sip cocktails and champagne at the JW Bar and JW Lounge overlooking Tokyo’s skyline.
With 1,140 square meters of flexible event space — including Japan’s largest 270° movable LED wall — the hotel is designed for both memorable celebrations and seamless business gatherings. Wellness takes center stage with the Spa by JW, an indoor pool with Tokyo Tower views, and a modern fitness center. The Family by JW program ensures enriching experiences for younger guests through creative play and discovery.
“JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo represents a new chapter for our brand in Japan — where mindful luxury meets urban sophistication,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President & Global Brand Leader, JW Marriott.
