Marriott’s Westin brand is set to debut on the Gold Coast, with La Vie Hotels & Resorts appointed to manage the landmark 138-key luxury hotel opening in late 2029.
La Vie Hotels & Resorts has reached another significant milestone after being appointed to manage The Westin Gold Coast, a landmark mixed-use development that will further strengthen the company’s growing portfolio of premium hospitality destinations across Australia.
Developed under a franchise agreement between Marriott International and Australian-based M Property, The Westin Gold Coast is expected to mark the brand’s debut on the Gold Coast. The new-build hotel will feature 138 keys and is scheduled to open in late 2029.
Marriott International currently operates two resorts on the Gold Coast, with four additional properties in the development pipeline. The destination’s active outdoor lifestyle makes it a natural fit for Westin Hotels & Resorts, a brand recognised for its wellness-focused approach to hospitality. Through its signature pillars—Eat Well, Sleep Well and Move Well—Westin is designed to help travellers maintain healthy routines while away from home.
“The Westin Gold Coast represents a natural fit between brand and location, and we already see strong performance across our existing Westin portfolio, both in key domestic and international source markets for the Gold Coast. We are excited to welcome Westin to the Gold Coast and introduce a genuine point of difference to the market,” said Tristan Cooper, Marriott International’s Director of Hotel Development, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific.
The Westin Gold Coast to Feature Ocean Views and Wellness Facilities
The hotel will occupy levels six to 25 of the mixed-use development and will offer 115 premium guest rooms and 23 suites, many with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean or the Gold Coast hinterland. Its central location will also provide guests with convenient access to major transport connections and the city’s key attractions.
Designed for both leisure and business travellers, the hotel is expected to include:
- Signature restaurant and bar
- Conference and meeting facilities
- Infinity pool and pool bar
- WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio
- Heavenly Spa by Westin
- Dedicated guest parking
An M Property spokesperson described the agreement as a defining milestone for the developer.
“This signing represents a significant step forward for M Property and reinforces our long-term vision for the Gold Coast as a world-class hospitality destination. Partnering with Marriott International to bring the Westin brand to this market is a milestone we are proud to see come to fruition.
“Westin’s focus on wellness and an elevated guest experience aligns closely with what we set out to create through this development. We are also pleased to have La Vie Hotels & Resorts appointed as the hotel operator. Their track record, professionalism and genuine understanding of the guest journey make them the right partner for this project, and we look forward to what we will build together.”
La Vie Hotels & Resorts Expands Australian Portfolio
Once operational, The Westin Gold Coast will bring Westin’s globally recognised wellness-led hospitality experience to one of Australia’s most popular coastal destinations while further expanding La Vie Hotels & Resorts’ presence in the region.
Jerry Xu, Chief Executive Officer of La Vie Hotels & Resorts, said the appointment represents another major achievement for the company.
“Being appointed to manage Westin Gold Coast is a proud milestone for La Vie Hotels & Resorts and a strong endorsement of the platform we have built across the Asia-Pacific region.
“We have tremendous respect for the vision that the M Property team have brought to this development, and we are honoured by the trust they have placed in La Vie to bring that vision to life. This landmark signing with Marriott International reflects the quality of the project and the continued growth of La Vie as a leading independent hotel management platform. Together with our partners, we look forward to delivering a world-class hotel experience and setting a new benchmark for hospitality on the Gold Coast.”
