Mandarin Oriental debuts its second Dubai hotel in Wasl Tower, blending Asian heritage with modern luxury, fine dining, and innovative wellness

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has unveiled Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, its second property in the UAE city, located within Wasl Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road. The opening marks a new chapter for luxury hotels in Dubai, blending Mandarin Oriental’s Asian heritage with the cosmopolitan pulse of Downtown.

Developed with Wasl Hospitality, the tower’s striking architecture and elevated interiors create a vertical boulevard where hospitality, culture, and commerce come together.

Design and Accommodation

Designed by UNStudio and engineered by Werner Sobek, Wasl Tower stands out for its twisting silhouette and the region’s tallest ceramic façade, engineered for natural cooling and sustainability.

The interiors, by G.A Group London, merge Dubai’s modern energy with Mandarin Oriental’s understated luxury. The hotel features 259 guestrooms and suites with skyline or Arabian Gulf views, plus 224 private residences set to launch in 2026 as The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai — offering luxury living with five-star service.

Dining Highlights

Culinary experiences take centre stage, with 10 restaurants and bars reflecting the global spirit of Downtown Dubai dining:

  • Yù & Mì – a dual-concept destination inspired by 1960s Hong Kong, serving craft cocktails and Cantonese–Sichuan flavours.
  • Chitarra – an homage to Italian dining culture, showcasing handmade pasta and regional recipes.
  • Noia by the Pool – a Greek-inspired rooftop venue pairing Mediterranean cuisine with panoramic views.

Upcoming venues include Billionaire and Lion in the Sun by Majestas Group, Osaka (a renowned Nikkei concept), and Pavyllon Dubai by Yannick Alléno, the world’s most Michelin-starred chef.

Wellness and Lifestyle

Wellness at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai introduces four pillars — nourishment, in-room wellness, beauty, and intelligent movement — across two dedicated floors. Guests can enjoy nine treatment rooms, a VIP hammam suite, vitality pools, saunas, and a state-of-the-art Technogym fitness centre.

Outdoors, a 25-metre lap pool, leisure and kids’ pools, and poolside cabanas offer a serene urban retreat, ideal for guests seeking a luxury wellness hotel in Dubai.

Art, Events and Family Experiences

With over 2,000 sqm of event space, the hotel features an Oriental Ballroom and eight meeting rooms, designed for weddings, conferences, and private gatherings. Families can enjoy the Hana & Friends Kids’ Club, offering creative activities for young travellers.

In keeping with tradition, the property unveiled its signature Mandarin Oriental fan, designed by Emirati artist Zeinab Alhashemi, crafted from camel hide and bronze — symbolising the fusion of Dubai’s heritage and modern innovation.
