As younger generations embrace weekend escapes and micro-cations to recharge, Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s award-winning travel programme, has partnered with McDonald’s China to launch the “Playful Getaways with Marriott Bonvoy” campaign, running nationwide through January 30, 2026.

The collaboration spans 14 cities and introduces imaginative experiences such as McDonald’s-themed hotel rooms, dual-branded sightseeing buses in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, as well as a fun “Scratch & Win” game, inviting travelers to rediscover their cities and nearby destinations in a fresh and playful way.

“By bringing McDonald’s characters into Marriott Bonvoy hotels for the first time, we’re offering a new kind of immersive, joyful stay experience,” said Betty Tian, Managing Vice President, Customer Group, Marriott International Greater China. “Through our Select Brands portfolio, we’re meeting the growing demand for short trips and meaningful connections in a relaxed, flexible, and fun atmosphere.”

Yabin He, Chief Growth Officer of McDonald’s China, added: “The McDonaldland campaign is all about creating carefree summer destinations. Partnering with Marriott’s award winning programme allows us to deliver vibrant travel experiences that celebrate the unique joy of McDonaldland.”

The campaign debuted on August 10 at Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay with the first-ever dual-branded beach experience, McDonald’s character-themed guest rooms, and special pop-up buses departing from flagship McDonald’s locations.

From August 10 to September 2, Marriott Bonvoy members staying at participating Four Points by Sheraton, Fairfield by Marriott, and Moxy hotels can also enjoy limited-edition “Playful Scratch Cards,” revealing surprise gifts such as vacation packages and exclusive merchandise.
