MGM Shenzhen Prince Bay opened on 10 September in Shekou, Nanshan, adding a new waterfront hotel to Shenzhen’s Prince Bay area.
Located at the maritime gateway of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the hotel is connected to the Shekou Cruise Home Port. MGM said the location provides access to major GBA cities within a 60-minute connectivity circle, as well as international transport links and views of the bay.
The hotel is also located near K11 ECOAST and the Sea World Culture and Arts Center. The surrounding precinct combines art, dining and cultural attractions.
The opening expands MGM Hospitality Group (Asia Pacific)’s presence in the Greater Bay Area.
Pansy Ho, Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said:
“This hotel has never been merely a place to stay—it is a stage where MGM’s century-old hospitality meets the dynamic spirit of Prince Bay, creating a unique urban harbor living experience for our guests.”
Waterfront design inspired by MGM cinema
MGM Shenzhen Prince Bay was conceived by GP Architects and LTW Designworks around a “waterfront garden” concept.
The design is divided into three acts inspired by classic MGM cinema. They explore a forested sanctuary, chromatic discovery and a retreat between mountains and sea.
The architecture and interiors also reference the Prince Bay shoreline and the area’s cruise-port heritage. MGM’s brand mission, “We Exist to Entertain Your Journey,” is incorporated into the design.
Among the features are a water installation in the lobby, a sky-level art installation and a cantilevered tower crown designed to echo a cruise deck.
298 ocean-view rooms and suites
MGM Shenzhen Prince Bay has 298 guest rooms and suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bay.
Room sizes range from 50 to 364 square metres. Categories include 270-degree panoramic sea-view rooms, terrace suites, sky suites and a presidential suite.
The rooms combine marine-inspired elements with an urban garden theme. They also include custom art installations, in-room technology, premium bedding and bath amenities.
The hotel said the room categories are designed for both business and leisure travellers.
