Pan Pacific Hotels Group debuts Pan Pacific Dalian, its first in the coastal city, blending modern luxury, local culture, and business convenience

Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG), the hospitality arm of Singapore-based UOL Group Limited, has officially opened Pan Pacific Dalian, its seventh property in China and first in the vibrant coastal city of Dalian.

A Strategic Location at the Heart of Dalian’s Coastal Hub

Strategically located on Youting Road, Pan Pacific Dalian offers a seamless blend of contemporary comfort and authentic local experiences. The hotel is within easy reach of Xinghai Square, the Dalian World Expo Centre, and the Xinghai Convention & Exhibition Centre, making it an ideal base for both business and leisure travellers.

Dalian, situated in Northeast China, has fast become a coastal economic powerhouse. The city is emerging as a hub for international trade, maritime innovation, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. In 2023 alone, Dalian reported an 87.8% surge in tourist arrivals, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, while its GDP reached RMB 951.69 billion (USD 131 billion) in 2024 — underscoring its growing economic strength.

PPHG Deepens Its China Footprint

“Dalian is gaining strong traction in both domestic tourism and business travel. It’s emerging as an engine of commerce, culture, and connectivity,” said Mr. Choe Peng Sum, CEO of PPHG.

He added that PPHG’s expansion into Dalian underscores the Group’s long-term commitment to China, where next-wave cities are driving domestic tourism and economic growth.

China’s Domestic Travel Market: A Global Powerhouse

China’s domestic travel market, valued at around USD 744 billion, is the world’s second largest, behind the United States. According to McKinsey, it is projected to grow 12% annually and overtake the US by 2030.

Nearly 30% of the global hotel construction pipeline is now concentrated in China — much of it in the luxury segment, catering to increasingly discerning travellers.

“China remains one of the most dynamic growth engines for the global economy,” added Mr. Choe. “We’re investing with confidence in China’s long-term trajectory, because travel and hospitality are integral to both its domestic momentum and global tourism demand.”

Design Inspired by Dalian’s Maritime Heritage

Soaring 52 storeys high, Pan Pacific Dalian offers breathtaking views of the Yellow Sea and surrounding hills. Its design aligns with PPHG’s Graceful Luxury 2.0 brand philosophy — an elevated expression of sensory-rich hospitality that celebrates meaningful connections and refined comfort.

Inspired by Dalian’s maritime legacy and trade history, the hotel features 216 rooms and suites, blending romantic, cruise-inspired interiors with modern elegance. Guests can enjoy an array of meeting and dining venues, including a rooftop bar that promises stunning panoramic views.

Distinctive Amenities and MICE Offerings

Adding to its allure, Pan Pacific Dalian features a rooftop helipad, offering options for VIP transfers, aerial sightseeing, or exclusive events — a rare amenity even among luxury hotels in the region.

Business and leisure guests alike can take advantage of the hotel’s state-of-the-art meeting facilities, fully equipped fitness centre, and serene spa, ensuring a holistic guest experience that blends productivity, wellness, and relaxation.

Pan Pacific Dalian marks a significant milestone in PPHG’s strategic growth in China, joining a robust portfolio that includes Pan Pacific Beijing, Pan Pacific Ningbo, Pan Pacific Suzhou, Pan Pacific Tianjin, Pan Pacific Xiamen, and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo.
