PATA Gold Awards 2026 Entry Deadline: May 15, 2026

The PATA Gold Awards 2026 is now accepting submissions from tourism organisations and professionals across Asia Pacific, with entries open until May 15, 2026, ahead of the awards presentation at PATA Travel Mart 2026 in Kuching, Malaysia.

Pacific Asia Travel Association Invites Entries for 42nd Edition

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has officially opened entries for the PATA Gold Awards 2026, one of the region’s longest-running tourism award programmes.

Now entering its 42nd edition, the awards recognise outstanding achievements, innovation and best practices across the Asia Pacific travel and tourism industry.

PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid said the programme continues to serve as a trusted benchmark for excellence, particularly as the association marks its 75th anniversary this year.

He noted that the awards are distinguished by a rigorous and independent judging process focused on measurable results, strong ideas and real-world impact.

Award Categories and What’s New in 2026

The PATA Gold Awards 2026 features two principal categories:

  • Marketing
  • Sustainability and Social Responsibility

For 2026, three new award titles have been introduced, expanding the programme to a total of 27 specialised categories.

The expansion reflects evolving tourism priorities, including responsible development, innovation and destination stewardship.

PATA acknowledged the continued support of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), a long-standing partner of the awards programme.

MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said the awards provide a global platform to highlight innovation and reinforce tourism’s role in economic diversification, particularly in Macao.

Why It Matters

Awards programmes in the Asia Pacific tourism sector increasingly function as strategic credibility tools rather than purely ceremonial recognition.

For destinations, tourism boards and private sector operators, recognition through established trade bodies such as PATA can:

  • Strengthen brand positioning in competitive markets
  • Support investor and stakeholder confidence
  • Provide third-party validation of sustainability initiatives
  • Enhance international marketing leverage

The addition of new award categories signals a continued shift toward responsible tourism practices and innovation-led growth.

With Asia Pacific tourism recovery and diversification strategies accelerating, structured recognition platforms such as the PATA Gold Awards offer industry benchmarking at a regional scale.
