Minor Hotels has appointed Patrick Manthe as General Manager of Avani+ Luang Prabang in Laos. He will oversee the 53-room hotel in the UNESCO World Heritage town.
A Swiss national, Manthe brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience across Asia, Europe and Australia. He joins Avani+ Luang Prabang from Amari Pattaya in Thailand, where he served as General Manager.
At Amari Pattaya, Manthe oversaw resort operations, commercial strategy and the development of dining and guest experiences.
Before joining Amari, he was General Manager of Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan and Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay in the Philippines. At Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay, he led the resort’s reopening. Revenue and gross operating profit reached record levels in 2022.
He also introduced art and cultural experiences to the resort’s guest offering.
Patrick Manthe’s Hotel Career Across Asia
Earlier in his career, Manthe spent four years as General Manager of Chatrium Hotel & Residence Riverside Bangkok. He also led the pre-opening of U Sathorn Bangkok.
His previous roles include Hotel Manager at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok and General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi. He also held senior food and beverage positions with Conrad and Hilton.
At Avani+ Luang Prabang, Manthe will oversee hotel operations, commercial performance and team development. He will work with the hotel team on guest experiences connected to the town’s culture and traditions.

Manthe holds a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism Management in Switzerland. He speaks German and English, with conversational French.
Avani+ Luang Prabang in Laos
Avani+ Luang Prabang is located in the town’s old quarter, opposite the night market. The hotel is surrounded by temples, boutiques and local cafés.
The property combines contemporary hotel facilities with access to Luang Prabang’s cultural heritage and experiences on the Mekong River.
Avani+ Luang Prabang is one of two Avani properties in Laos. The other is Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane, which opened in July 2026.
