Market-specific strategy drives regional growth
Rather than pursuing expansion through a single brand approach, Radisson Hotel Group is matching each destination with the most suitable brand and operating model. As a result, the Group continues to strengthen its presence in urban centres, resort destinations and mixed-use developments throughout the region.
Ramzy Fenionos, Chief Development Officer, APAC, Radisson Hotel Group, said Southeast Asia and the wider Pacific continue to offer significant long-term growth opportunities. He added that owners increasingly seek brands supported by strong commercial capabilities, operational expertise and flexible development solutions that respond to evolving guest expectations.
Vietnam strengthens city and resort portfolio
Vietnam remains one of Radisson Hotel Group’s priority growth markets, supported by rising leisure, business and experience-led travel demand.
The Group currently operates and develops 14 hotels with more than 3,100 rooms across the country.
One of the latest milestones is the opening of the 352-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Ha Long Bay, bringing the Radisson Blu brand to one of Vietnam’s best-known UNESCO World Heritage destinations. The waterfront hotel enhances the Group’s leisure offering in northern Vietnam.
Looking ahead, Radisson Hotel Westlake Hanoi is scheduled to open in 2028. The 182-room property will overlook West Lake and feature approximately 800 square metres of meeting space, together with a rooftop bar designed to attract both business and leisure guests.
These additions complement existing hotels in Cam Ranh, Danang, Phu Quoc and Hoi An.
Philippines expands through owner partnerships and new brands
The Philippines continues to be one of the Group’s fastest-growing markets.
Radisson Hotel Group currently has eight operating hotels with 1,559 keys and 17 hotels with 3,762 keys under development. By 2030, seven of the company’s ten global brands are expected to be represented in the country.
A major driver of this expansion is the Group’s long-standing partnership with SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC). Together, they aim to grow the Park Inn by Radisson portfolio to 20 hotels by 2028.
The market has also welcomed two important brand debuts:
- LIME Resort Bohol, a member of Radisson Individuals Premier, the first Radisson Individuals Premier property in Asia-Pacific.
- Radisson RED Cebu Mandaue, introducing the lifestyle-focused Radisson RED brand to the Philippines.
The development pipeline includes several notable projects:
- Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson SM Mall of Asia
- Radisson RED Mactan Cebu Resort
- Fridays Boracay, A Radisson Collection Resort
- Radisson Crown Regency Grand Paradise Resort Bohol
- Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences Cagayan de Oro
Together, these projects span luxury resorts, lifestyle hotels, mixed-use developments and branded residences, highlighting the country’s diverse hospitality opportunities.
Australasia portfolio continues to diversify
Radisson Hotel Group is also expanding across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
In Australia, The Merchant Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, introduces the brand to Brisbane, while Canterbury International Hotel Melbourne, also joining Radisson Individuals, expands the brand’s Victorian presence alongside Park Inn by Radisson Melbourne Carlton.
New Zealand has become an increasingly important lifestyle market. The recently opened Radisson RED Auckland marks the brand’s debut in the country, while Radisson RED Hotel Queenstown is scheduled to open in late 2028 with views overlooking Lake Wakatipu.
Meanwhile, Fiji will see further investment through:
- Radisson Blu Mirage Resort, Fiji Naisoso Island (opening 2027)
- Mana Island Resort & Spa Fiji, a member of Radisson Individuals, reopening after a major refurbishment in late 2027
The Group is also entering Samoa with Return to Paradise Resort, a member of Radisson Individuals, which will be upgraded while preserving its authentic Samoan character.
Thailand and Indonesia add new opportunities
Expansion also continues in two of Southeast Asia’s most established tourism markets.
In Thailand, Radisson Blu Resort, Phuket Mai Khao and Radisson Resort, Layan Phuket are now welcoming guests. Meanwhile, Radisson Serviced Apartments Rawai Phuket is expected to open in 2029, targeting the growing extended-stay segment.
In Indonesia, ANTA Hotel Bali Canggu, a member of Radisson Individuals, will introduce 116 serviced apartments to Bali’s popular Canggu district from 2027.
