Radisson Hotel Group Opens Radisson RED Oslo City Centre – A Verified Net Zero Hotel
The opportunity to stay in a Verified Net Zero hotel allows guests to become part of a forward-thinking movement that combines comfort and innovation with sustainability

Radisson RED Oslo City Centre

Radisson Hotel Group proudly announces the opening of Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, one of the world’s first Verified Net Zero hotels and a bold new addition to Norway’s capital. The launch marks a major milestone in sustainable hospitality, placing the property at the forefront of climate-conscious travel.

Fresh from a full transformation of the former Park Inn by Radisson, the hotel introduces 118 redesigned guest rooms, vibrant social spaces, and versatile meeting facilities—all infused with Radisson RED’s playful twist on Scandinavian minimalism. Perfectly located in the heart of Oslo, guests have instant access to the city’s most iconic landmarks, from the Oslo Opera House to the Munch Museum.

Verified Net Zero by TÜV Rheinland
As part of Radisson Hotel Group’s journey to reach Net Zero by 2050, the property already meets the 2040 requirements of the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels, verified by independent third party TÜV Rheinland. It is the Group’s second Verified Net Zero hotel, following the Manchester opening earlier this summer.

Sustainable Design and Guest Experience
Radisson RED Oslo City Centre combines bold design with a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a restaurant, bar, lounge, gym, and six versatile meeting rooms for up to 100 people. Sustainability is integrated into every touchpoint of the experience:

  • 100% renewable energy powers all operations, eliminating Scope 1 & 2 emissions.
  • Low-carbon menus developed with Klimato reduce recipe footprints by up to 40%.
  • Zero-waste initiatives include food waste tracking, Too Good To Go partnerships, bulk amenities, and glass water bottles replacing plastic.
  • Digital tools like the Stay E-concierge app reduce paper use, while recycling is embedded throughout guest and public areas.
  • Community-driven initiatives include Dripdrop umbrellas, with a tree planted for each umbrella borrowed.

Remaining emissions are offset with carbon removal certificates in partnership with Agreena, supporting regenerative farming practices across Europe.

Industry Leaders Speak Out
“By transforming hotels in operation to Verified Net Zero status, we prove that Net Zero conversions are not only possible, but essential. With 80% of the buildings that must reach Net Zero by 2050 already built, it is critical we move quickly to transform existing properties,” said Inge Huijbrechts, Chief Sustainability & Security Officer, Radisson Hotel Group.

Tom Flanagan Karttunen, COO, Leased Hotels, added:
“Radisson has always been a pioneer in hospitality design. With Verified Net Zero, we are pioneering again—delivering energy-efficient transformations while offering memorable, responsible stays.”

With its opening, Radisson RED Oslo City Centre gives travelers the opportunity to stay in a net-zero carbon footprint hotel, where comfort, creativity, and sustainability go hand in hand.
