Shangri-La Group launches Shangri-La Hongqiao Airport and Traders Hongqiao Airport, marking its fifth Shanghai property and the global debut of the refreshed Traders brand

Shangri-La Group has opened Shangri-La Hongqiao Airport and Traders Hongqiao Airport, Shanghai—a dual-branded flagship located at the heart of the city’s integrated Hongqiao transportation hub. The milestone marks the Group’s fifth project in Shanghai and the global debut of the refreshed Traders brand, designed for modern business travellers who value technology, speed, and comfort.

Chris Tung, Group Chief Marketing Officer and China CEO of Shangri-La Group, said, “Through heartfelt Asian hospitality, we aim to create the ‘Finest Service Window’ that reflects our long-term commitment to Shanghai’s economic growth and the integration of the Yangtze River Delta.”

The two hotels offer distinct yet complementary experiences—timeless Shangri-La luxury and tech-forward Traders efficiency—all under one roof. With direct connectivity to Terminal 2 of Hongqiao International Airport, the high-speed rail station, and metro network, guests can reach downtown Shanghai or nearby cities like Suzhou and Hangzhou in under an hour.

Shangri-La Hongqiao Airport features 91 refined rooms and suites, the signature Jiangnan Wok restaurant led by Michelin-starred Chef Tiger Yang, and nearly 3,000 square metres of event space. Traders Hongqiao Airport introduces 520 smart, contemporary rooms, 15-second express check-in, luggage and coffee robots, and a lively food-hall concept—77 Food Restaurant—that showcases regional favourites.
