Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH) has welcomed 49 new properties in the first half of 2025, with notable openings in Japan, India, China, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The additions bring SLH’s global portfolio to over 620 hotels in 90+ countries, spanning vibrant cities and tranquil nature escapes.

Several newcomers join SLH’s Considerate Collection, the world’s largest group of (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) GSTC-recognised sustainable hotels, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to conscious travel.

Highlights for Asia Pacific:

Japan: Champagne-themed Cuvée J2 Hôtel Osaka, traditional-meets-modern TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO in Tokyo, and Kyoto’s ultra-luxe FAUCHON L’Hotel Kyoto.

India: Amaya, a sustainable Himalayan sanctuary designed by celebrated architect Bijoy Jain; and Baale Resort Goa, blending Balinese elegance with Goan charm.

China: Younch Hotel, a 16-room hidden gem at the gateway to the Silk Road in Xi’an

Australia: Coastal wellness escape Lon Retreat & Spa in Victoria and the upcoming Levantine Hill Hotel in Yarra Valley wine country.

Thailand, Malaysia & Indonesia: Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket, Bertam Wellness Spa & Villas in Penang, and The Ungasan Clifftop Resort in Bali.
