How is Sun Siyam, one of the Maldives’ most authentic resort operators reshaping its identity?

Sun Siyam has unveiled a major brand transformation to mark 35 years of Maldivian hospitality, introducing a unified identity under The House of Siyam and a new statement: “The Home of the Maldivian Spirit.” The (r)evolution spans a refreshed visual identity, restructured collections, signature guest experiences, and a strengthened loyalty platform.

Portfolio Realignment
The group’s six properties are now organised into three collections:

  • Luxury Collection: Elevated indulgence — led by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi
  • Lifestyle Collection: Energetic, family-friendly escapesSun Siyam Olhuveli and Siyam World
  • Privé Collection: Intimate barefoot hideawaysSun Siyam Iru Veli, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and Sun Siyam Pasikudah (Sri Lanka)

Signature Experiences
Guests can discover Maldivian Roots culinary and cultural journeys, capture memories at the Insta Villa, relax at the Sun Siyam Beach Club, or enjoy surprises such as Wow Welcomes, Hidden Treasure Chests, Moonlit Cinemas, and Plant-Based Bliss dining.

Siyam Rewards
A new digital membership programme offers personalised itineraries, upgrades, carbon-offset options, and rewards from the first booking — reinforcing direct relationships with guests. Every stay also contributes to Sun Siyam Care sustainability initiatives, from marine conservation to community projects.

Leadership Insights
Founder Ahmed Siyam Mohamed said the transformation ensures the brand “keeps its Maldivian soul alive while innovating for the next generation of travellers.” CEO Deepak Booneady added that the rebrand is about “cultural authenticity, purpose-driven hospitality, and creating moments that spark joy.”

Execution
The refresh was guided by JHAGGER&CO (brand strategy), StudioSixty7 (design), and Dominik Ruhl (operations), supported by Sun Siyam’s on-island and corporate teams. A new website, sunsiyam.com, reflects the brand’s contemporary yet distinctly Maldivian identity.
