TUI BLUE Han River hotel in Da Nang designed by Dewan
TUI BLUE Han River opened in Da Nang on 8 August 2026 with 125 rooms and design by Dewan

TUI BLUE Han River officially opened in Da Nang on 8 August 2026, adding a new 125-room hotel to the city’s Han River waterfront.

Developed by Thaigroup and operated under the international TUI BLUE brand, the hotel combines accommodation, dining, wellness and business facilities.

Dewan served as the Lead Designer for the hotel component. The practice said its design approach drew on more than 10 years of experience in Vietnam and the multicultural background of its staff.

TUI BLUE Han River Design

The design takes inspiration from Da Nang and its surrounding area. It combines references to the region’s cultural heritage with elements reflecting the city’s contemporary character.

The hotel also makes use of its location along the Han River. Its design frames views towards the river and the ocean beyond.

Architecture and interiors were developed as a connected concept. According to Dewan, the approach combines a contemporary international design language with references to local culture, craftsmanship and hospitality.

The project includes guest rooms, public areas, wellness facilities and rooftop spaces designed around the TUI BLUE brand.

“Working with Dewan, we’ve brought the TUI BLUE ‘Hotels designed for you’ philosophy to life on the banks of the Han River. The design seamlessly integrates our core brand pillars—authentic local experiences and modern wellness—with Da Nang’s vibrant energy. Dewan’s architecture captures the river’s fluid grace, while the stylish, functional spaces provide the perfect backdrop for our tailored guest experiences. It’s a sophisticated, contemporary sanctuary that feels truly rooted in its environment,” Axel de Boynes, Pre-opening Manager / General Manager, TUI BLUE Han River.

Design Approach for the Hotel

Dewan said its approach focused on more than the visual appearance of the hotel. The architecture and interiors were developed to support the TUI BLUE brand and its operating model.

The design process covered the overall architectural expression, guest rooms, public spaces, wellness facilities and rooftop experiences.

“TUI BLUE Han River demonstrates the value of combining international hospitality experience with a genuine sense of place” says Mohammed Adib, Chief Design Officer at Dewan. “We have worked on hospitality developments across different markets and understand the level of design, coordination and brand knowledge required to deliver at an international standard, whilst optimizing the efficiency of the design to minimize wasted space and time for operations. At the same time, our experience in Southeast Asia allows us to bring an understanding of the market and the character of each location. The strongest projects are those where these perspectives come together to create something distinctive.”

Dewan has more than four decades of international experience and an established presence in Vietnam. The practice operates as an integrated firm, bringing together design leadership, hospitality expertise, technical capabilities and local market knowledge.

TUI BLUE Han River Wins Design Awards

The hotel has already received recognition at several design awards in 2026.

At the 2026 Asia Architecture Design Awards, TUI BLUE Han River received Asia’s Best Hospitality Interior Design and Asia’s Finest Boutique Hotel.

The project also received a Gold Award at the 2026 VMARK Vietnam Design Awards.

Dewan itself was named Asia’s Best Firm in Architecture Design and Asia’s Best Firm in Hospitality Architecture Design.

According to Dewan, the awards recognise both the hotel project and the firm’s broader architecture and hospitality design capabilities. The practice also said the recognition reflects the collaboration between the developer, operator and design team.

Dewan’s Southeast Asia Hospitality Portfolio

With TUI BLUE Han River now operational, Dewan said the project adds to its growing presence in Southeast Asia.

The practice positions its regional work around a combination of international hospitality experience and local understanding. At TUI BLUE Han River, this approach was applied from the initial concept through to the hotel’s opening.

The project was developed by Thaigroup, operated by TUI BLUE and designed by Dewan.

For the design practice, the opening marks the completion of a hospitality project that brings together the requirements of an international hotel operator with references to its Da Nang setting.
