UnionPay and IHG

UnionPay International has teamed up with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to offer up to 15% instant discounts for global UnionPay credit cardholders booking stays in Chinese mainland. The promotion covers over 500 participating hotels that accept UnionPay online payments, running from June 10 to October 31, 2025.

Eligible IHG brands include Six Senses, Regent, Kimpton, InterContinental, Vignette Collection, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, HUALUXE, EVEN Hotels, voco, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express.

UnionPay credit cards issued in South Korea or SplendorPlus cards enjoy 15% off (up to 400 RMB), while other overseas-issued UnionPay credit cards receive 10% off (up to 200 RMB). Bookings must be made via the official IHG website or IHG One Rewards app, with UnionPay selected at checkout.

UnionPay is widely accepted across China, with real-time currency conversion, QR code payments, and the option to link cards to Alipay or WeChat Pay. The SplendorPlus card, launched last year, also offers travel perks, cultural experiences, and 1% cashback for international visitors.
