Four-month global initiative positions the Maldives as the Indian Ocean’s leading superyacht destination, targeting elite travelers and strengthening the nation’s luxury tourism portfolio
Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has unveiled its first-ever Super Yacht Promotion Campaign, running from September to December 2025, as part of its strategy to position the country among the world’s most prestigious luxury yachting destinations. The campaign targets high-net-worth individuals traveling on private and chartered superyachts, showcasing the country’s crystal-clear waters, rich marine biodiversity, and bespoke experiences tailored for yacht owners, captains, charterers, and brokers.
By aligning itself with the prestige of Monaco and the momentum of Asia’s emerging yachting routes, the destination aims to cement its reputation as an exclusive stop on the modern-day Spice Route for luxury maritime travelers. The initiative took center stage at the Monaco Yacht Show, one of the world’s leading superyacht events, where the Maldives engaged with over 6,000 global industry professionals. The campaign also features strategic meetings, targeted coverage in luxury and yachting media, influencer partnerships, and a dedicated Maldives showcase on the Spice Route website, supported by digital and social media activations.
“Through this campaign, we are positioning the country as the Indian Ocean’s leading luxury superyacht destination,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO & Managing Director, Visit Maldives Corporation. “By strengthening our presence at global yachting events and engaging directly with key decision-makers, we aim to capture a currently underserved market and reaffirm the Maldives as the ultimate stop for high-net-worth travellers.”
With 1.59 million visitor arrivals recorded as of September 2025, this initiative marks a strategic diversification of the country’s tourism industry. Expanding into the luxury superyacht sector underscores the destination’s evolution — from iconic resort retreats to a global playground for ultra-luxury maritime experiences.
