Waldorf Astoria Shanghai

While New York’s “Greatest of Them All” is set to reopen this autumn, our very own Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund continues to be a favourite spot in the city.

Last night, the hotel’s popular Long Bar hosted a vibrant guest shift featuring Andy Chen and Eddy Chen from The Public House, Taipei , a bar that has earned multiple accolades, including 2025 Taiwan Bar of the Year, and a spot on Asia’s 50 Best Bars: #44 in 2024 and #43 in 2023.

The Long Bar pulsed with energy, alive with the hum of conversation and the clink of glasses. A lively crowd filled the space, their laughter and chatter blending into a warm, inviting buzz.

The staff moved with polished ease, attentive without being overbearing. A few names stood out: Vincent, confident and composed; Jupert, quick with a recommendation; and Jed, always greeting guests with a friendly smile. The Long Bar team nailed the service, as always.

From the small stage, a singer’s soulful voice rose above the crowd, seamlessly weaving through the rhythms of a live band, the steady thump of drums, the shimmer of keys, the smooth riffs of guitar. The music set the tone: vibrant yet relaxed, electric yet intimate.

Behind the bar, guest mixologists Eddy and Andy crafted cocktails that were nothing short of showstoppers. Each drink was a piece of art in a glass. Guests watched with fascination as flavours were stirred, shaken, and flamed into creations that tasted every bit as incredible as they looked.
