Jin Jiang Hotels and Nexa Hospitality Expand Partnership
Nexa Hospitality Sdn. Bhd. is a Malaysian hotel investment, development and management company specialising in hotel investment, brand partnerships and hotel operations management. The company focuses on bringing international hotel brands to the Malaysian market.
To date, Jin Jiang Hotels (Malaysia) and Nexa Hospitality have signed 11 projects, including nine in Malaysia and two in Indonesia. The portfolio covers multiple hotel developments, including projects under the 7 Days brand.
Nexa Hospitality sees potential in the digitalised guest experience and smart hospitality capabilities developed by 7 Days in China. The company aims to adapt these capabilities to the needs of local travellers while supporting the brand’s expansion across the region.
The opening of 7 Days Premium Hotel Hang Lekiu is the first project under the partnership to officially commence operations. Therefore, the hotel represents an important milestone for both companies and provides a foundation for further development of the 7 Days brand in Malaysia.
Malaysia Tourism Growth Supports New Hotel Opening
The opening comes as Malaysia continues to build tourism momentum under Visit Malaysia 2026-2027. The campaign aims to attract 47 million international tourist arrivals and generate RM147.1 billion in tourism receipts this year.
During the first quarter of 2026, Malaysia recorded 10.65 million international visitor arrivals, representing a 5.4% increase from the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, arrivals from China increased by more than 25% year-on-year to 1.41 million, making China the strongest-growing major source market for Malaysia.
This growth provides an important backdrop for the expansion of international and regional hotel brands in Kuala Lumpur.
7 Days Brings Its Economy Hospitality Concept to Malaysia
As an economy hotel brand under Jin Jiang Hotels, 7 Days has more than 20 years of history. The brand focuses on affordable, well-designed and comfortable stays for travellers seeking practicality, convenience and consistent quality.
As of December 2025, 7 Days had expanded to more than 300 cities across China and overseas markets, with more than 1,800 hotels in operation and a total portfolio exceeding 2,400 properties.
For its Malaysian debut, the brand has also introduced a refreshed localised identity, including a new logo developed specifically for the Malaysia market. The updated branding provides a more contemporary expression while retaining the brand’s core focus on simplicity, reliability and convenience.
Kuala Lumpur Location Near Major Attractions
Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, 7 Days Premium Hotel Hang Lekiu provides convenient access to the city’s heritage attractions, transport connections and lifestyle destinations.
Nearby attractions and transport links include Masjid Jamek LRT Station, Pasar Seni, Central Market, Petaling Street, Merdeka Square and Kuala Lumpur Tower.
The central location is designed to support both leisure and business travellers looking for practical accommodation within easy reach of key parts of the city.
Smart Technology, Comfort and Everyday Convenience
The newly opened 7 Days Premium Hotel Hang Lekiu is positioned around convenience, reliability and value. The hotel offers several room categories, including Standard Twin, Standard King, Superior View Twin, Superior View Queen and Deluxe View King.
Technology also plays an important role in the guest experience. Self-check-in kiosks allow guests to complete the arrival process more quickly, potentially reducing waiting time at the front desk. At the same time, hotel colleagues remain available to assist guests when needed.
In addition, smart in-room controls allow guests to manage their room environment more conveniently. The technology is designed to combine everyday functionality with a straightforward stay experience.
The hotel also provides a 24-hour robot delivery service, allowing selected items to be delivered directly to guestrooms at any time.
Together, these features reflect 7 Days’ approach to smart economy hospitality, giving guests greater flexibility while maintaining access to traditional hotel assistance.
Essential Facilities for Modern Travellers
Beyond its technology features, the hotel provides a range of essential facilities designed around practical travel needs. These include a gym, self-service laundry room, public washroom and a coffee house and breakfast area.
Guests also have access to high-speed WiFi, 24-hour hot water, a fresh-air system and e-wallet payment options.
Members may request late check-out until 2:00 p.m., subject to availability. In addition, the hotel incorporates Muslim-friendly features, including in-room prayer direction indicators and Muslim-friendly breakfast options.
These facilities are intended to provide a convenient stay for both local and international travellers visiting Kuala Lumpur.
Jin Jiang Hotels Provides Global Support
The Malaysia expansion is supported by Jin Jiang Hotels’ wider international operating platform. The group operates across both full-service and limited-service hotel segments.
As of 31 December 2025, Jin Jiang Hotels had more than 14,100 hotels in operation globally, with over 1.36 million rooms. This scale provides brand, operational and resource support for the continued development of 7 Days in Malaysia.
Jin Jiang Hotels’ global hospitality ecosystem is also supported by the Jin Jiang Global Purchasing Platform (GPP). The group’s official procurement platform provides supply-chain services covering procurement, localisation and operating efficiency.
Its overseas B2B platform now covers 75 countries and 633 hotels, with recorded orders exceeding RMB80 million. Across domestic and overseas markets, the platform has achieved a cumulative transaction value of more than RMB16 billion.
This infrastructure provides additional support for hotel development and day-to-day operations as Jin Jiang Hotels expands into international markets.
7 Days Expands Digital Distribution in Malaysia
As part of its international expansion strategy, the 7 Days brand will connect with regional and international travellers through several major online travel platforms.
7 Days Premium Hotel Hang Lekiu will be distributed through Trip.com, Booking.com, Agoda, Traveloka and Tiket. Travellers from China can also book through the Jin Jiang Rewards app and WeChat mini programme, with access to member benefits and loyalty rewards.
The multi-channel distribution strategy is expected to strengthen the hotel’s visibility among both Malaysian and international travellers, particularly as travel between China and Southeast Asia continues to develop.
Malaysia Becomes a Key Market for Southeast Asia Expansion
The Malaysia debut of the 7 Days brand forms part of Jin Jiang Hotels’ broader Southeast Asia strategy. Looking ahead, the company plans to position Malaysia as one of its core regional markets alongside Indonesia and Vietnam.
The group will continue to explore additional opportunities across Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, the opening of 7 Days Premium Hotel Hang Lekiu provides a first operational foothold for the brand in Malaysia and establishes a platform for further growth in the region.
