Aman has announced Aman Seoul, its first destination in South Korea.

Shinsegae Group’s real estate development company, Shinsegae Property, is partnering with global hotel brand Aman to develop Aman Seoul in Seoul’s Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu. The project will mark Aman’s first entry into the domestic South Korean market.

Shinsegae Property announced the project on September 2. The project, meanwhile, will comprise eight basement levels and 38 above-ground floors.

The development will include a hotel, 49 residential units, retail and cultural spaces, and Aman Club, a membership-based community.

Aman Club will offer members access to a private swimming pool, fitness center, lounge and other facilities. The project will have a total floor area of approximately 70,000 square meters.

Aman Seoul targets completion by 2030

Construction began in April. Meanwhile, the developers plan to complete the project by the end of 2030.

Shinsegae Property will oversee project planning, strategy and development. Aman will participate in the design and overall operation of the project.

Aman will directly operate the hotel, residences and community facilities under a long-term outsourcing arrangement.

According to Shinsegae Property, the project will draw on Aman’s experience operating hotels, resorts and residences in 21 cities worldwide since the brand was established in 1988.

Shinsegae and Aman expand development partnership

The project follows a broader partnership between Shinsegae Group and Aman Group.

In July, Shinsegae Group signed an agreement with Oco Group, Aman Group’s development project management company, to establish a joint venture (JV).

Under the agreement, the companies will pursue hotel and residential developments involving Aman Group subsidiaries Aman and Zann, both in South Korea and internationally.

Executives outline vision for Aman Seoul

Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin said, “Aman Seoul will be more than just a hotel development; it will serve as a new milestone for Seoul’s high-end lifestyle.”

He added, “Going forward, we will continue to create innovative spatial value based on our differentiated space development capabilities.”

Aman Group Chairman Vlad Doronin said, “Aman Seoul embodies Aman’s confidence in Seoul’s future and our vision to establish a new hub for the Aman lifestyle in Seoul.”
