Capri by Fraser will make its UK debut with a new hotel residence in London’s Kensington, following the transformation of seven restored Victorian buildings on Cromwell Road.
The six-storey property will have 180 units and span more than 7,000 sqm. According to Frasers Hospitality, the project will combine the buildings’ historic architectural features with Capri by Fraser’s design-led interiors and technology-focused approach.
Flexible accommodation on Cromwell Road
The property will offer accommodation ranging from studios to double apartment suites with kitchenettes. The units are designed for both business and leisure travellers staying for short or extended periods.
The hotel will also feature spaces intended for work, socialising and leisure. These include a social hub for guests and locals, along with a 24/7 gym.
In addition, the property will introduce a music zone and a dedicated space for art exhibitions and community events.
Food and beverage facilities will include breakfast for residents and locals, as well as light food and snacks during the day and evening. A bar will serve signature cocktails and other beverages. Meeting facilities will also be available.
Victorian architecture meets Capri by Fraser design
The redevelopment will retain architectural details from the Victorian buildings, including high ceilings, bay windows, statement staircases and stained-glass features.
The interior design will also draw on the area’s connection with “Albertopolis”, the cultural district originally envisioned by Prince Albert as a centre for innovation and discovery.
The hotel will be located near cultural and educational institutions including the Royal Albert Hall, V&A and the Natural History Museums.
Frasers Hospitality said the property will reflect Capri by Fraser’s “Stay Curious. Stay Capri.” philosophy through its social and design elements.
Hotel redevelopment to operate without gas
As part of the redevelopment, Capri by Fraser, Kensington / London will operate without gas.
The property will use air source heat pumps to support its hot water requirements. According to Frasers Hospitality, the approach is intended to help lower carbon emissions and forms part of its commitment to lower-impact hospitality.
Capri by Fraser expands in gateway cities
Capri by Fraser currently has properties in cities including Berlin, Brisbane, Penang and Singapore.
The brand has more than 1,700 rooms across nine gateway cities, with the London property marking its first UK location.
