Expedia Group has launched Autonomous Onboarding, a system that allows accommodation providers to join its travel marketplace through their existing property management system (PMS) or channel manager software.
The process enables properties to select Expedia Group as a distribution channel, accept the agreement and go live in less than 24 hours. According to the company, the system eliminates duplicate data entry and the need for a separate onboarding workflow.
The launch gives properties access to Expedia Group’s consumer brands, business-to-business (B2B) distribution network and emerging AI-powered travel partnerships.

How Autonomous Onboarding Works
Properties can activate Expedia Group as a distribution channel directly through their existing connectivity provider. After reviewing and accepting the agreement, they can connect without completing a separate onboarding process or entering the same information across multiple systems.
The system automatically transfers key property information from the existing software to Expedia Group. This includes room types, rates and rate plans, photos, amenities, payment configurations, availability and other property details.
Expedia Group then validates the transferred data before the property goes live. The company said the automated process replaces manual setup tasks and shortens the time required to join its marketplace.
Access to Expedia Group’s Distribution Network
Once connected, properties can distribute their inventory through Expedia Group’s consumer brands and its B2B network, which includes more than 75,000 partners and 200,000 travel advisors.
They can also access the company’s emerging AI-powered travel partnerships.
Expedia Group reported that its platform recorded more than one billion average monthly searches and over 415 million booked room nights in 2025. These figures represent the scale of travel demand available through its distribution channels.
Five Connectivity Providers Supported the Pilot
Expedia Group worked with five connectivity providers during the pilot phase: HotelRunner, Yanolja Cloud Solutions, RoomCloud, RateGain and Eviivo.
Chris Hodges, Vice President of Global Connectivity & Partner Solutions at Expedia Group, said the system aims to reduce the work involved in adding a distribution channel.
Adding a new source of demand should not add a new layer of work. Autonomous Onboarding makes it much easier for properties to join Expedia Group through the technology they already use. It is an important first step in our broader vision for AUTONOMOUS DISTRIBUTION, where partners can spend less time on manual processes and more time growing their business
Expedia Group Plans Broader Autonomous Distribution
Autonomous Onboarding marks the first phase of Expedia Group’s Autonomous Distribution initiative.
The company’s longer-term plan is to simplify more stages of the distribution lifecycle. Starting with onboarding, the initiative is expected to extend to how partners manage and, over time, optimise their businesses.
