Meliá Chiang Mai’s MAI The Sky Bar holds the title of the city’s highest rooftop venue, featuring 360-degree panoramas stretching from the Ping River to Doi Suthep Temple.

Positioned on the 22nd floor, layered terraces and a dramatic glass bridge link the bar’s highest platforms, all framed by glass balustrades for uninterrupted views of sunset and nighttime city lights.

Spanish-inspired bites and creative beverages

Drawing on the hotel brand’s Spanish heritage, MAI The Sky Bar features a menu of light tapas-style bites and desserts categorised under playful Spanish headings. Visitors can expect grazing boards, shareable plates and imaginative non-alcoholic drinks inspired by Chiang Mai’s forests and mountains, along with an entertainment programme of DJs and live musicians.

Seasonal dining and rooftop events

MAI The Sky Bar hosts a year-round calendar of rooftop happenings, including festive celebrations and gastronomy events. Highlights include upcoming culinary showcases with visiting chefs from Spain, each event concluding with a lively Sky & Vine Finale atop the Upper Deck.

Pattaya: A New Sky Lounge With Gulf Views

Yitong Sky Bar – Meliá Pattaya

On the 12th floor of the recently opened Meliá Pattaya Hotel, Yitong Sky Bar pairs sweeping Gulf of Thailand scenery with a contemporary rooftop atmosphere.

Part of Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar, the venue focuses on wellness-orientated Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, with menus themed around balance, sustainability and shareable dining.

Unique flavours and cultural inspiration

The bar’s signature drinks and mocktail selections take inspiration from health-focused ingredients including goji berry, citrus and botanicals. The name “Yitong”, meaning “together”, honours the Chinese heritage of Chonburi Province as well as the tradition of communal dining.

Skyline celebrations on the coast

Yitong Sky Bar also hosts seasonal events including its New Year’s Eve programme, set against the illuminated coastline. Hotel guests can pair rooftop visits with stay packages such as “Chill & Cheers Escape”, offering a relaxed introduction to the newly opened property.

Why Thailand’s Rooftop Scene Is Rising

Thailand continues to reinvent the rooftop experience through architecture, creative dining concepts and cultural inspiration. Whether you’re drawn to Chiang Mai’s mountain views, Bangkok’s dramatic glass pool or Pattaya’s Gulf-front skyline, each location highlights a different perspective of the country’s urban landscape.
