Hilton Honors Pay with Points digital check-out feature.
Hilton introduces Pay with Points, allowing eligible Hilton Honors members to redeem Points during digital check-out.

Hilton has launched Pay with Points, a new Hilton Honors benefit that allows eligible loyalty programme members to redeem Points against qualifying hotel charges through the Hilton Honors App during digital check-out.

The feature is available to members with Silver, Gold, Diamond or Diamond Reserve status. Hilton says the service is the first of its kind among major hotel brands to let members apply loyalty Points to their hotel bills through a fully digital check-out process.

Initially, Pay with Points is available at 150 participating hotels in the United States. Hilton plans to expand the service to more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026, before rolling it out to more than 6,000 participating properties across the United States and Canada in early 2027.

Hilton Introduces Digital Points Redemption at Check-Out

Pay with Points was developed in response to feedback from Hilton Honors members. According to Hilton research, 70% of members surveyed expressed interest in using Points for purchases at hotel properties. Approximately half said the option could make them more likely to stay at or book with Hilton.

The new feature allows eligible members to manage their Points redemption without visiting the front desk. During digital check-out, guests can review their hotel bill, select from available redemption options and apply Points towards eligible charges directly in the Hilton Honors App.

Unlike comparable services that require assistance from hotel staff, Hilton’s system lets members complete the process digitally while at the property or on the go.

However, availability and eligible redemption options may vary by hotel.

Hilton Expands Digital Tools for Hilton Honors Members

Brad Anderson, vice president of the Hilton Honors Program, said the feature responds to members’ requests for greater flexibility in using their loyalty Points.

“Loyalty is personal, and every Point a member earns represents a choice they made to stay with us,” said Brad Anderson, vice president, Hilton Honors Program. “Our Hilton Honors members have told us they want more flexibility when it comes to using those Points. They can already redeem them for free night stays or money-can’t-buy experiences around the world. Pay with Points introduces another digitally-enabled tool to our members, reducing the friction of travel and providing them with the choice and control that they value.”

Hilton developed the feature using its customised technology platform. It builds on the company’s existing digital services, including Digital Check In, Digital Key and Choose Your Room.

With Points redemption now integrated into Digital Check Out, members can manage more aspects of their hotel stay through the app, from arrival to departure.

Pay with Points Rollout Through 2027

Hilton is introducing the feature in stages as part of its approach to testing and refining digital services.

The rollout schedule is as follows:

  • Currently: Available at 150 participating hotels in the United States.
  • By the end of 2026: Expected to expand to more than 800 hotels.
  • Early 2027: Planned full rollout to more than 6,000 participating properties across the United States and Canada.

The service is available to eligible Hilton Honors members with Silver, Gold, Diamond or Diamond Reserve status. The Points redemption options and qualifying charges will depend on the participating property.
