InterContinental Dalian is located in the heart of the city, near Zhongshan Square and several of Dalian’s established commercial and tourism districts. The hotel has also expanded its meetings and events capacity with a new conference center completed at the end of 2025.
In this interview, Sharon Wang, General Manager of InterContinental Dalian, discusses the hotel’s central location, its new conference facilities and plans to develop new guest experiences as Dalian’s tourism industry continues to grow.

1. Could you introduce InterContinental Dalian and its location?
InterContinental Dalian’s location is one of its key advantages. The hotel serves both business and leisure travelers.
Located in central Dalian, the hotel is close to Zhongshan Square, which is surrounded by historic buildings and reflects a blend of European architectural influences and local character.
The hotel is also near the Qingniwa and Tianjin Street commercial districts. Guests can walk to nearby public transportation, Dalian Railway Station, Russian Style Street and Japanese Style Street. Donggang Music Fountain Square is also nearby.
The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Labor Park. By car, Laohutan Ocean Park, Dalian Forest Zoo, Xinghai Square and Shengya Ocean World are approximately 20 minutes away.
2. The hotel recently added new facilities. What can you tell us about them?
The new conference center was completed at the end of 2025. It includes two 750-square-meter pillar-free ballrooms, with a combined capacity of up to 700 guests.
Each ballroom occupies an individual floor and is equipped with audiovisual and meeting facilities. The space can accommodate large conferences, banquets, weddings and other events.
The third floor of the conference center connects directly to the hotel. The new facility has expanded the hotel’s capacity to host meetings and events.
3. What opportunities do you see for the hotel as Dalian’s tourism industry develops?
As Dalian’s tourism industry continues to develop, we will continue to enhance our service offering.
Potential new guest experiences include health and wellness programs, smart-bed rooms, audiovisual rooms and family rooms designed for parents and children.
At the same time, we are continuing our digital transformation to improve operational efficiency.
