JCB Contactless payment accepted on LA Metro TAP validator for buses and Metro Rail
JCB Contactless is now accepted on LA Metro buses and Metro Rail through new TAP validators

JCB Contactless is now accepted across Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) buses and Metro Rail stations through the agency’s newly introduced TAP validators. The move gives JCB cardholders a more convenient way to pay for public transportation across Los Angeles.

The implementation is part of LA Metro’s ongoing efforts to make public transportation more convenient and accessible for regular riders, new passengers and visitors to the city.

JCB Cardholders Can Tap to Ride Across Los Angeles

With JCB Contactless now supported, cardholders can simply tap their contactless JCB cards or smartphones at LA Metro’s TAP validators when using buses and Metro Rail services.

“We are excited to announce that JCB has been included as one of the payment options in LA Metro’s contactless fare payment system,” said Fumihiko Mitsuoka, President & CEO of JCB USA.

“JCB Cardholders can now enjoy the convenience of contactless payments across LA Metro’s trains and buses simply by tapping their cards or smartphones at the validator.”

Mitsuoka added that tap-to-pay transactions using credit cards and mobile devices are already familiar to many JCB cardholders. As a result, the new payment option further enhances the convenience and flexibility of the JCB payment experience.

Supporting Travel to Los Angeles

Los Angeles remains a popular travel destination for JCB cardholders from Asia. Therefore, the expanded contactless payment option is expected to provide a smoother transportation experience for visitors exploring the city.

LA Metro operates one of the largest public transportation networks in the United States. Its bus and rail services connect communities throughout Los Angeles County, supporting everyday travel for both residents and visitors.

The acceptance of JCB Contactless across the network also gives international travelers another familiar payment option when navigating the region.
