Kämp Spa has opened at Hotel Kämp in Helsinki as part of the historic hotel’s largest refurbishment in modern times.
The 1,200-square-metre spa combines Finnish sauna traditions with technology-led wellness treatments and personalized programs. The project forms part of a wider refurbishment of Hotel Kämp that is scheduled for completion in fall 2026.
Hotel Kämp is also adding 22 rooms and suites in an entirely new wing. The refurbishment includes every room and suite, the return of the main entrance to its original position facing the Esplanade, and changes to the lobby, bar and restaurant.
Kämp Spa combines Finnish traditions with technology
Kämp Spa previously operated on a smaller scale. The new facility is a ground-up project that has taken several years to develop.
According to Nordic Hotels & Resorts, the spa is designed around recovery, vitality and long-term health. Its concept combines Nordic rituals with evidence-based practices and personalized wellness programs.
The facilities include Finnish, steam and infrared saunas, a pool and cold plunge pool. Guests can also book signature treatments.
Technology-led offerings include cryotherapy, Neurosonic beds and compression therapy. The spa also provides nutrition-focused options, functional beverages and personalized wellness programs.

Archer Humphryes designs the spa interiors
London-based Archer Humphryes Architects designed Kämp Spa, as well as much of the wider Hotel Kämp refurbishment.
The design follows the hotel’s new design language, with an emphasis on form, warmth and curved lines. Wood finishes, soft architectural curves and concealed radiant lighting are used throughout the spa.
The approach is intended to create a cocoon-like environment within the hotel.
Hotel Kämp General Manager Tuomas Liewendahl said the spa continues the property’s history of introducing new experiences to Helsinki.

Kämp Spa Members’ Club adds year-round access
A separate part of the concept is the Kämp Spa Members’ Club, which operates as a limited-membership community.
Members receive year-round access to the spa and its Technogym-equipped gym, together with personalized guidance.
The treatment menu includes signature massages and facials, as well as treatments ranging from longevity-focused programs to shorter express options.
Among the treatments is the two-hour Renewal Ritual. It uses warm Karelian soapstones glided over the body to stimulate circulation and release muscle tension.
The spa also offers a 90-minute DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment. The skin treatment is often described as a non-surgical facelift and is used to target sun damage, acne, rosacea and pigmentation.
Spa Lounge focuses on Nordic flavours
Nutrition is another part of the Kämp Spa concept.
The Spa Lounge serves food and drinks based on Nordic flavours and functional ingredients. Options include protein-rich bowls, broths and signature drinks inspired by Finnish nature.
The menu includes house-made collagen ice cream. Another offering is a Birch and Cranberry mocktail served in a vessel modeled on the traditional Finnish “löylykiulu” sauna bucket.
Liewendahl said the spa responds to growing interest in restorative treatments and longevity.
