Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes expands its portfolio with private villas and estates in Europe and Asia, including new destinations in Croatia, Greece and Italy. (Picutred: LOPUD 1483, Lopud, Croatia)

Mandarin Oriental has expanded its Exceptional Homes collection with 12 additional properties, bringing the portfolio to 43 homes across 18 destinations. The latest additions introduce six new locations: Lopud in Croatia, Porto Heli in Greece, Florence and Chianti in Italy, Sardinia and Marbella, Spain, alongside further expansion in Puglia and the French Riviera.

The collection includes privately owned villas, historic estates and restored rural properties. The new locations extend its presence across Europe, while an estate in Chiang Rai, Thailand, adds another option in Asia.

New Destinations and Properties

Florence and Chianti, Italy

The Florence additions include Villa Petrucci and Dimora Ghirlandaio. Villa Petrucci sits within the historic city and offers views across Florence. Its interiors were completed following a five-year restoration led by architect and designer Massimo Adario.

Dimora Ghirlandaio occupies a site in the Tuscan hills of Impruneta. The estate features original pietra serena stone and terracotta interiors, with views across Florence and the Chianti hills.

Nearby, Il Cellese is set within a private estate in Chianti. The property combines traditional stone architecture with vineyard views.

Sardinia, Italy

The collection adds Villa Ada and Villa Marzia in Sardinia. Both properties have direct coastal access and sea views.

Villa Ada is in Portisco, while Villa Marzia is located at Capo Coda Cavallo, close to a secluded beach and a natural harbour.

Puglia, Italy

Two restored trulli join the portfolio in Puglia: Trullo delle Dame and Trullo dei Pumi. These traditional buildings retain elements of the region’s architectural heritage alongside contemporary amenities and private accommodation.

Marbella, Spain

Marbella gains seven villas, including properties in La Zagaleta and Nueva Andalucía’s Golf Valley. Some occupy frontline positions overlooking Las Brisas Golf Club.

The additions expand the collection’s presence in a destination known for its private villas and coastal setting.

Lopud, Croatia, and Porto Heli, Greece

The expansion marks Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes’ first entries in Lopud and Porto Heli.

In Croatia, Lopud 1483 is a restored estate built around a 15th-century Franciscan monastery on Lopud, one of the Elaphiti Islands near Dubrovnik.

In Greece, Vanikiba is a contemporary villa on a hillside in Porto Heli, with outdoor dining areas, a private swimming pool and views towards the Argolic Gulf and nearby islands.

Chiang Rai, Thailand

Tatvani introduces a private estate in northern Thailand. Surrounded by rice fields, lotus ponds, waterways, bamboo groves and tropical gardens, it comprises six villas and nine individually designed guestrooms.

The buildings use golden teak and incorporate elements of traditional Thai design.

Services Across the Collection

Each Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Home is individually owned and selected according to its location, design and ability to provide the group’s services, according to the company.

These include a dedicated concierge to plan itineraries, private-chef services, daily housekeeping and amenities for guests.

The company said the expansion forms part of its strategy to broaden the collection’s geographic reach while maintaining its approach to service and property selection.

“As the portfolio evolves, our focus remains on purposeful growth; introducing new destinations that broaden our global reach while preserving the intimacy, discretion and exceptional service our guests expect. This next phase reflects both the strength of the collection and our ambition for its continued expansion,” said Philip Leighton, Head of Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes.
