Veteran Hotelier Brings Global Luxury Experience

A third-generation hotelier, Handl brings more than three decades of international experience across luxury hotels, resorts, and integrated developments.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles with globally recognised brands including Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Aman, and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, with professional experience spanning Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

Originally trained in food and beverage operations, Handl combines strong operational expertise with commercial leadership across sales, marketing, and multi-property management. His international upbringing and extensive experience in Asia underpin a culturally attuned leadership approach aligned with the expectations of today’s global luxury traveller.

Strengthening Leadership at a Pivotal Moment

Handl joins Dusit from Abu Dhabi National Hotels, where he oversaw a portfolio of 15 properties representing 10 international hotel brands. The role further strengthened his expertise in multi-asset operations, asset management, and brand positioning in highly competitive markets.

His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Dusit as the company builds on the early success of its reimagined flagship hotel.

The newly redeveloped Dusit Thani Bangkok reopened in September 2024 following a complete transformation that honours the heritage of the original property while introducing a contemporary luxury hospitality experience.

Since reopening, the hotel has already earned a Michelin Key for its accommodations and service, while its signature restaurant, Cannubi by Umberto Bombana led by Umberto Bombana, has received a Michelin Star.

Branded Residences to Follow

Looking ahead, Dusit is preparing for the phased introduction of its branded residential offerings at Dusit Central Park.

The development will feature two distinct luxury living concepts within the same tower overlooking Lumpini Park: the heritage-inspired Dusit Residences and the contemporary lifestyle-driven Dusit Parkside.

Unit transfers for the residences are expected to unlock significant value for the company as Dusit continues to expand its presence in the luxury hospitality and branded residence sectors.
