Milestone Tourism Framework

A milestone tourism framework, the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Tourism Strategy 2030, was introduced at the Mekong Tourism Forum (MTF) 2025 in Luang Prabang. The strategy charts a course for the GMS to advance resilient, high-yield, and sustainable tourism while accelerating the development of secondary destinations through 2030.

Reflecting a steadfast commitment to coordinated regional action, this regional tourism blueprint addresses post-pandemic recovery needs, promotes environmental sustainability, and ensures equitable growth, with the aim of establishing the GMS as a premier global tourist destination recognized for seamless, high-quality, sustainable travel experiences that foster inclusive economic opportunities and responsible destination stewardship.
