Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC) was founded in 1826

Experience the RSYC Christmas Boat Light-Up Parade 2025 with illuminated yachts, festive markets, family activities, and a preview of RSYC’s 2026 Bicentennial celebrations

The Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC) is kicking off the festive season in spectacular style, launching its annual celebrations on 5 December 2025 (Fri) with a month-long Christmas Light-Up at its heritage marina. As one of Singapore’s most historic waterfront institutions, RSYC transforms into a glowing holiday haven—setting the stage for one of the nation’s most unique festive experiences.

A Christmas Parade Like No Other in Singapore

Illuminated yachts, twinkling lights, and festive cheer along West Coast Ferry Road

The highlight of the season is the RSYC Christmas Boat Light-Up Parade, taking place on 13 December 2025 (Sat), from 6–9pm SGT, at 52 West Coast Ferry Road, Singapore 126887.

Visitors will be treated to a magical display of glowing yachts, sparkling fairy lights, and imaginative nautical decorations lighting up the marina. Whether viewed from the West Coast promenade or admired from the shoreline, the parade offers a visually stunning festive moment that stands apart from typical holiday events in Singapore.

Festive Market & Family Activities

A rare chance to explore RSYC’s usually private marina surroundings

Extending beyond the parade, RSYC will open its grounds for a special festive market—featuring artisanal crafts, seasonal treats, and hands-on activities designed for families.

This rare public opening of the Club’s traditionally members-only spaces allows visitors to experience RSYC’s warmth and hospitality during the most joyous time of year.

On 12 December 2025 (Fri)—the evening before the main parade—guests can also enjoy:

  • A static illuminated boat display
  • Carnival games
  • Balloon sculpting sessions
  • Christmas carolling

Prelude to RSYC’s Landmark Bicentennial Year (#RSYC200)

Celebrating 200 years of maritime heritage in 2026

This year’s parade serves as the official prelude to RSYC’s monumental Bicentennial Year in 2026, marking 200 years of maritime tradition and community.

The celebrations will culminate in a Bicentennial Gala Dinner and Heritage Exhibition on 7 February 2026 (Sat). The event will be graced by:

  • Guest-of-Honour President Tharman Shanmugaratnam
  • Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for West Coast–Jurong West GRC, Desmond Lee

The Gala Dinner commemorates RSYC’s evolution—from its early foundations and its resilience through World War II and the Japanese Occupation, to its modern role as an anchor of Singapore’s yachting community. RSYC’s long-standing ties to national leadership also continue a rich legacy, beginning with President Yusof Ishak, the Club’s first Patron in independent Singapore, following earlier royal patronage from Prince Edward (later King Edward VIII) in 1922.

Looking Ahead: A Year of Celebrations
