Hilton has announced plans to introduce its Tempo by Hilton brand to Asia Pacific, marking the lifestyle brand’s regional debut with multiple hotel signings across China. The expansion strengthens Hilton’s growing lifestyle portfolio while responding to rising demand from business and leisure travellers seeking experience-driven stays that balance productivity, wellness and relaxation.

The first Tempo by Hilton properties will open in key Chinese destinations, including Beijing, Xiamen, Chengdu and Jiaxing, representing another milestone in Hilton’s strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle brands across the region.

Launched in 2020, Tempo by Hilton is an upscale lifestyle brand created for ambitious, purpose-driven travellers who value flexibility, wellbeing and meaningful experiences during their stay.

Each hotel is designed to support guests throughout the day with adaptable social spaces for working, collaborating and relaxing. Signature brand features include the distinctive “Look Up” design moment, which encourages guests to pause and be present, while Moonsong CAFÉ + BAR serves as a vibrant gathering place.

Guest rooms also feature dedicated Get Ready and Power Down zones, allowing travellers to transition seamlessly between work, social activities and rest.

The new Chinese hotels join nearly 90 operating and pipeline Tempo by Hilton properties worldwide, highlighting the brand’s rapid global growth.

Hilton has signed agreements with multiple owners across several of China’s leading cities, reflecting strong developer confidence in the brand and continued demand for upscale lifestyle accommodation.

The expansion also reinforces Hilton’s broader growth strategy in Greater China, where it currently operates five lifestyle brands:

  • Curio Collection by Hilton
  • Tapestry Collection by Hilton
  • Motto by Hilton
  • Tempo by Hilton

Hilton plans to double its number of lifestyle hotels in China, targeting travellers increasingly looking for immersive, experience-focused stays.

More Lifestyle Hotels Coming Across China

Alongside the Tempo by Hilton expansion, Hilton continues to introduce additional lifestyle properties across China.

Later this year, Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton will open in Wuxi, while Shanghai Parkview Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton will debut in Pudong, incorporating the area’s 450-year-old salt-making heritage into its guest experience.

Meanwhile, Motto by Hilton Shanghai Wuliqiao is scheduled to open in 2027, marking the brand’s first hotel in Mainland China within Shanghai’s Huangpu District.

Recent signings also include The Mountain The Sea Hotel Dali, Curio Collection by Hilton, another Curio Collection hotel in Nanjing, and a new Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in Wuxi.

Collectively, these developments contribute to Hilton’s goal of reaching 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels across Asia Pacific, while introducing eight luxury and lifestyle brand debuts in the region this year.

Building on Momentum Beyond the United States

Tempo by Hilton made its debut in New York’s Times Square and has since expanded rapidly across the United States, with hotels now operating in Washington, D.C., Savannah, Raleigh, Pigeon Forge and Nashville.

The Asia Pacific launch follows the signing of the brand’s first European property last year, further accelerating Tempo’s international growth.
