Vignette Collection hotel in Greater China
IHG’s Vignette Collection is expanding across Greater China, including Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Vignette Collection is expanding across Greater China, with new hotels in Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beidaihe, Qiandao Lake and Sanya this year. The expansion follows the recent addition of The Hari Hong Kong, Vignette Collection.

The luxury collection brand brings together independently distinctive properties under a shared brand identity. Its hotels range from urban properties to coastal retreats, with individual concepts linked to local culture, communities and surroundings.

Rita Jiang, Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer, Greater China, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Luxury travellers today are increasingly looking for personalised experiences that reflect their interests and leave a lasting impression. We believe every hotel has its own character, and every destination has a story worth discovering. Vignette Collection celebrates the individuality of its hotels and their connections to local culture, lifestyles and communities, offering guests experiences that go beyond the stay. As the collection grows, we hope to inspire more guests to explore and collect stories of their own.”

Vignette Collection Focuses on Individuality and Local Experiences

Vignette Collection is built around three brand hallmarks: One-of-a-Kind Stays, Memorable Rituals and A Means for Good. These focus on each property’s identity, experiences designed around its setting, and initiatives that support local communities and environmental causes.

One-of-a-Kind Stays

Each hotel retains its own style and identity, with experiences that introduce guests to the character and culture of its destination.

– TFT Chongqing, Vignette Collection draws on Chongqing’s identity as the “Bridge City” and its position overlooking the confluence of two rivers. Bridge-inspired details appear in the interiors and room keys. The concept also extends to themed afternoon tea and story cards that explore the city’s landscape and heritage.

– THE ONE Shanghai Downtown, Vignette Collection reflects Shanghai’s Art Deco heritage through its architecture and interiors. The hotel also collaborates with a local art centre to connect guests with the city’s creative scene.

Memorable Rituals Reflect Local Character

The brand’s second hallmark centres on signature experiences inspired by each hotel’s surroundings. These rituals give guests additional ways to engage with the destination.

– Shanghai Snow World Hotel, Vignette Collection, located within the Shanghai L+SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort, extends the winter getaway experience beyond the slopes. A bell signals the start of an après-ski gathering, where guests can enjoy specially crafted drinks beside an electric fireplace. The hotel also offers introductory sessions for first-time skiers.

– Resea Hotel Beidaihe, Vignette Collection draws on its coastal setting and seasonal scenery. Its signature sunrise ritual invites guests to watch the first light appear over the sea.

– Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu, Vignette Collection celebrates Chengdu’s cultural heritage through experiences inspired by Shu embroidery and fragrance-making. Hands-on activities introduce guests to local traditions and the city’s contemporary lifestyle.

Community and Environmental Initiatives

The third hallmark, A Means for Good, focuses on initiatives intended to benefit local communities and the environment.

– The Hari Hong Kong, Vignette Collection, in Wan Chai, combines art and culture with contemporary hotel design. Through The Hari Art Prize, the hotel provides a platform for emerging Hong Kong-based artists and supports the city’s creative community.

– WM Hotel Hong Kong, Vignette Collection, a waterfront property in Sai Kung, draws on the area’s maritime heritage and natural surroundings. In partnership with a local non-profit international school, the hotel has organised a beach clean-up at Sha Ha Beach to raise awareness of marine conservation and encourage community participation.

– The Azure Ningbo, Vignette Collection reuses coffee grounds and food waste to produce compost for plants and hotel gardens, incorporating waste reduction into its daily operations.

As Vignette Collection expands across Greater China, its portfolio brings together properties with different local identities, signature guest experiences and community initiatives. The latest additions extend the brand’s presence across major cities and leisure destinations in the region.
