IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has welcomed Yas World Resort, formerly Yas Plaza Hotels, into its Vignette Collection brand on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Developed by Aldar, the resort brings six hotels together as one integrated destination. With more than 1,400 rooms and suites, it is the largest property in the Vignette Collection portfolio, according to IHG.
The six hotels offer different accommodation experiences while sharing access to the resort’s private beach, restaurants, swimming pools, wellness facilities and leisure amenities. Guests can also visit the theme parks and attractions across Yas Island.
The addition expands IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in the Middle East. The company describes this portfolio as the world’s second largest in its category.
Six Hotels with Distinct Identities
Vignette Collection brings together independent hotels under a shared brand while retaining each property’s individual identity.
At Yas World Resort, the six hotels draw inspiration from different aspects of Yas Island:
- Verde: Inspired by the surrounding mangroves.
- Vista: Reflects the bay.
- Pulse: Draws on the island’s motorsport and racing circuit.
- Horizon: Inspired by the marina.
- Fairway: Reflects the island’s golf landscape.
- Haven: Focuses on the space and comfort associated with longer stays.
The brand also incorporates community engagement and local culture into its hotel experiences.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said:
“Welcoming Yas World Resort into Vignette Collection marks a significant addition to IHG’s growing luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the region, and a strong reflection of the ambition shaping tourism in Abu Dhabi. As the world’s largest Vignette Collection destination, the resort brings together six distinctive hotels in one integrated experience, offering greater choice for travellers while remaining deeply connected to the character and culture of Yas Island. This landmark milestone reinforces our commitment to strategic growth with our owners and partners, and to creating exceptional destinations that attract guests from across the region and around the world.”
Kapil Aggarwal, CEO of Aldar Hospitality, said:
“Yas World Resort marks an important milestone in Aldar’s hospitality transformation and reflects our long-term commitment to Yas Island as one of the world’s leading leisure and entertainment destinations. By reimagining six hotels as one connected resort, opening private beach access at Cyan Beach and partnering with IHG to bring Vignette Collection to the island, we have created a destination that offers greater choice, richer experiences and lasting value for guests and for Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector. It is a clear example of how we continue to invest in places that grow and evolve with the emirate’s ambitions.”
Beach, Pools and Leisure Facilities
Yas World Resort includes access to Cyan Beach, a private stretch of shoreline with food and beverage options.
Across the six hotels, the resort also has six swimming pools, three spas and three children’s clubs. Other facilities include gyms, padel courts, tennis courts and squash courts.
These amenities provide options for families and guests seeking recreational activities or wellness facilities during their stay.
21 Dining and Food and Beverage Options
The resort offers 21 food and beverage outlets, covering a range of cuisines and dining concepts.
Options include breakfast venues, cafés, family dining and restaurants for evening meals. The outlets operate across the six hotels and shared resort areas.
Emirati Heritage and Local Craftsmanship
Vignette Collection incorporates two brand initiatives, Memorable Rituals and Means For Good, into its properties.
At Yas World Resort, the arrival experience features “Marhaba El-Saa”, an Emirati-inspired welcome reflecting local hospitality traditions.
Guests can also experience a bespoke fragrance developed in partnership with House of Artisans, Abu Dhabi, an initiative focused on preserving traditional Emirati craftsmanship. The resort presents the fragrance in a keepsake bottle for guests to take home.
Meanwhile, the Means For Good initiative focuses on partnerships with non-profit organisations and contributions to local communities.
At Yas World Resort, guests can discover and purchase handcrafted Emirati products. Proceeds support local artisans and the continuation of their traditional crafts. The initiative forms part of IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow responsible business commitments.
Access to Yas Island Attractions
The resort is located on Yas Island, which is home to several major entertainment attractions, including Ferrari World Yas Island, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Yas Island and Yas Waterworld Yas Island.
Other attractions and venues include Yas Marina Circuit, Etihad Arena, Etihad Park, Yas Links, Yas Mall and CLYMB Abu Dhabi.
Together, these facilities cover theme parks, motorsport, live entertainment, golf, shopping and indoor adventure activities.
Further Development and IHG One Rewards
Yas World Resort plans further enhancements to its dining, wellness and sports facilities.
Guests staying at any of the six hotels can also participate in IHG One Rewards, the group’s loyalty programme. Members can earn and redeem points across all six properties.
The programme offers members benefits and mobile app services across IHG’s hotel portfolio.
