His responsibilities cover Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Empress, Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and Fairmont Vancouver Airport.

Desjardins brings more than 28 years of leadership experience with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. He joins the Pacific Northwest region from Fairmont Taghazout Bay in Morocco, where he has served as General Manager since 2019.

During his tenure, he led the resort’s opening and its positioning in the regional hospitality market.

Desjardins’ International Hotel Management Experience

Throughout his career, Desjardins has held senior management positions at Fairmont properties across North America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

His experience includes luxury hotel operations, property openings and guest experience management.

Previous appointments include General Manager of Fairmont Ajman, Director of Operations at Fairmont The Palm and Fairmont Baku Flame Towers, and Director of Rooms at Fairmont Singapore.

Leading Fairmont’s Pacific Northwest Portfolio

In his new regional role, Desjardins will oversee Fairmont’s five-property portfolio across the Pacific Northwest.

He takes up the appointment as the region’s hospitality and tourism sector continues to evolve.

According to the company, his leadership approach emphasises team development, collaboration and building relationships with colleagues, guests and local communities. He also has a focus on developing future hospitality leaders.

New Role at Fairmont Pacific Rim

As General Manager of Fairmont Pacific Rim, Desjardins will lead a property that holds Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond ratings.

The Vancouver hotel opened on the city’s waterfront in 2010. Its facilities and services include design, culinary and wellness offerings, according to the original announcement.

Under his leadership, the hotel plans to continue developing its service, operations and community relationships while maintaining its position in Vancouver’s hospitality market.

Originally from Montréal, Desjardins returns to Canada with his family after more than two decades working internationally in the hospitality industry.

He plans to work with teams across the Pacific Northwest to develop collaboration between the five properties, build on their individual strengths and strengthen Fairmont’s relationships with the communities they serve.
